Apex Legends devs respond to frustrating “oversight” with Big Maude shop

Apex Legends players noticed a particularly frustrating oversight from the Vend-it machines in the new Big Maude POI in Season 10, and Respawn has responded to their complaints.

Rampart’s Town Takeover added a brand-new POI early in Apex Legends Season 10. Big Maude’s shop is a place that players can visit in order to craft fully-kitted weapons with Vend-it machines.

While these machines can be pretty helpful, players have noticed that the weapons they get from them can be stolen by teammates, leaving the player empty-handed after spending their Crafted Materials.

Now, Respawn has addressed this issue.

Reddit user dstay10 posted about this problem in the Apex Legends subreddit. The clip they posted showcased their teammate stealing the fully-modded R-99 that they crafted in one of Big Maude’s Shop machines.

“The replicator delay should work at Big Maude too,” they said. This led to many responses from other users who consider this to be a huge omission by the developers since it shouldn’t be possible for your teammates to steal your crafted weapons.

This problem hasn’t escaped the developers’ attention. After this thread went up, Respawn’s Live Technical Designer, who goes by ‘exgeniar,’ reassured fans that they would be looking into the problem.

“This feels like an oversight, I’ll bring it up to the design team,” exgeniar said.

The machines at Big Maude’s shop are similar to the in-game Replicators, but those don’t have the problem of players being able to steal their teammate’s weapons. Hopefully, Respawn will ensure that the Vend-It machines work just as smoothly.

While we don’t know when the fix will come precisely, it’s reassuring to know that the developers are at least aware of the problem and are investigating it. Hopefully, the fix will come in the next update patch.
