Apex Legends devs respond to Season 12 Pathfinder buffs requests
Apex Legends players have been calling for some major buffs to Pathfinder in Season 12, and Respawn Entertainment have finally responded to these requests.
There are a total of 19 different characters to choose from in Apex Legends. All of these Legends have unique abilities that make them ideal choices for a variety of different combat situations.
Pathfinder has consistently been one of the top five picks in the game. Despite his popularity, players have been requesting that Respawn Entertainment provide him with a major buff in Season 12.
Now, one of the Apex Legends devs has responded to these requests.
Respawn will not change Pathfinder in Season 12
Apex Legends’ Lead Balance Director John Larson discussed Pathfinder in an interview with Dexerto’s Kijanna Henry. The dev went over why there hasn’t been any major update for the Legend.
After explaining how complicated it is to buff or nerf characters, he stated that Respawn believes Pathfinder currently doesn’t need any improvements. This can be attributed to the Legend’s high pick rate.
One popular player suggestion has been to increase Pathfinder’s utility while he uses a zipline, and Larson dismissed that idea: “Does he have less of an accuracy penalty on ziplines, or can he heal on ziplines? That would just straight up buff him.”
Larson also explained why Pathfinder’s abilities don’t need to match the strength of other characters: “It’s important to evaluate the kit as a whole. I don’t think there should be a world where every legend has an equally enticing passive, tactical, and ultimate.”

It seems that Respawn are currently satisfied with Pathfinder’s performance, so we won’t see the Legend go through any major changes anytime soon. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll stay the same forever.

Larson noted that the team is always open to making changes when needed. So, we might see Pathfinder get some upgrades when the game’s meta shifts in a future season. Only time will tell when this will happen exactly.
