Apex Legends devs tease new Olympus and World’s Edge locations
Apex Legends developers have been teasing Season 9 over on their Instagram account through glitchy videos, which could potentially show off some new map locations for Olympus and Worlds Edge.
Over the past week, Respawn Entertainment has been hard a work teasing and revealing the upcoming Season 9 entitled Legacy.
In the latest videos, it seems map changes for Olympus have been teased, as well as potentially unexpected changes to Apex Legend’s heavily missed map, World’s Edge, which was left out for Season 8.
Since the latest Stories from the Outlands short and reveal of the upcoming Apex Legend, Valkyrie, Respawn Entertainment has been teasing the new content coming in Legacy.
The latest videos seem to show off some new map changes in Apex Legends. However, the locations are very confusing. Dataminer @GarretLeaks has been analyzing the videos and has some interesting insight into what the videos are showing.
GarretLeaks first thought these three videos showed “new locations for Olympus,” as he edited the videos to get clear, individual frame images.
The first image shows an underground, tunnel-like setting with the overgrown plants teased in the official Infested Olympus reveal over on the Apex Legends website. Originally, Garret had believed this to be a new location in Olympus.
However, after deeper analysis and help from the community, it is now suspected that we could be seeing a double map change, with the image looking very similar to the tunnel underneath Train Yard on World’s Edge.
This seems even more possible with the second image, as the mountains in the background look very similar to the terrain and surroundings in World’s Edge, not Olympus. One fan has a theory that the image is of a Phase Runner like the one on Olympus, and perhaps Hammond Robotics has decided to build one on World’s Edge.
Lastly, the final image is very familiar as it seems to be the same location teased in the 100 million players video posted by Apex Legends Twitter last week. Many have imagined this location to replace Hammond Labs in the middle of the Olympus map, however more recently, many believe it could actually be a location for the new 3v3 mode, Arena.
If these videos were teasing a double map change for Olympus and World’s Edge, it would definitely surprise players, as this is information that reliable Apex Legends dataminers have missed.
