Since the official reveal of Apex Legends’ latest character, Valkyrie, the developers have released some interesting videos over on their Instagram page.
In the most recent news for Apex Legends, fans finally got to see the latest Legend, Valkyrie arriving in Season 9: Legacy.
It seems the developers were feeling extra generous, as they also decided to tease some in-game footage of Valkyrie, showing off some aspects of her kit and a potential finisher.
Respawn Entertainment released another Stories from the Outlands short over on their YouTube channel yesterday, which was met by excitement from fans. Players also got details on the new season, including the name, theme, and even weapon coming to Apex Legends.
Respawn wasn’t done there. Over on their Instagram page, they also released three glitchy surveillance footage videos of Valkyrie gameplay.
The Apex Legends community has been breaking down these videos, trying to understand what they show. Dataminers GarretLeaks and Biast12 have potentially identified what some of these videos are presenting.
The first video is entitled “CAMERA 9: OPERATIONAL” and it is tough to make out exactly what is going on. With the help of Biast12, it seems this video could be hiding one of Valkyrie’s finishers, called “the After Burner.”

The second video is hard to make out; however, the video becomes clearer with the community’s help. As we know, one of Valkyrie’s abilities is her VTOL Jets, which allow her to hover in the air much like the Northstar Titan from Titanfall.
This is exactly what Biast12 believes this video is showing, while GarretLeaks thinks it could potentially be her Cluster Missiles. Towards the end of the clip, we see dark streaks that look similar to what you would see behind a missile.
The final clip is also very interesting, as it could be one of Valkyrie’s finishers, but one that dataminers haven’t identified yet.
This gameplay clip could also be her ultimate ability, which sees her take to the skies and redeploy either on her own or with her team, which would make sense as you can clearly see the fire coming out of her jets towards the end.
It’s hard to know exactly what’s going on in these videos focused on Valkyrie, but it’s great to see Respawn putting so much effort into their Legend reveals, increasing the hyper for Season 9: Legacy, which is set to release on March 4th.

Apex Legends dev responds to Season 9 triggering ‘the fear of glitter’
An Apex Legends player with ‘sparkalaphobia’ and epilepsy can’t play Season 9, and devs said they’re taking the issue seriously.
After an Apex Legends player with ‘sparkalaphobia’ – the fear of glitter – and epilepsy explained how the new Bocek Bow prevents them from playing Season 9, a dev said they’re taking the issue seriously.
An Apex Legends player has long been suffering from ‘sparkalaphobia,’ the fear of glitter, but it’s come to a head after the Bocek Bow has triggered epileptic seizures. In a Reddit post on May 6, the player explained to Respawn Entertainment that Season 9 is the first season they “can’t truly play,” as the Bocek Bow’s arrows shimmer in a way that triggers their epilepsy.
Sparkalaphobia is defined as the fear of glitter, but for Reddit user sky-m1n, it’s their epilepsy that gives them the fear. “It’s not the glitter I’m afraid of,” described sky-m1n. “But the overexposure of light that’s the issue.”
In a Reddit post explaining the problem to Apex’s devs, they said, “I can stare at a static image no problem, give me a white noise channel and I’m fine, Christmas ornament sure too, but once you flicker a halogen while it rotates, the reflections start to hurt.”
sky-m1n then described how when a seizure is triggered, you get a “sudden tense sensation rushing behind your skull,” a burning image in your eyes, and a “snapping of your neck from the jerk.”
“Then it hits you, brain.exe gets deleted and you stare into the abyss as if blindness took over,” they continued. “The worst is that with brain.exe dead, your body can forget to breathe and you drown in lifelessness until it all comes back. That’s what scares me.”
How this relates to Apex Legends Season 9 is the Bocek Bow’s arrows shimmer with a pulsing yellow light when they’re on the ground or embedded in a surface. “I feel uneasy, the pulse gets under my skin and the more arrows there are, the more uncomfortable it becomes,” sky-m1n described.
It sometimes gets to the point that sky-m1n has to force close the game and cradle themself as they “can feel like an epileptic seizure coming.”
The post received a ton of attention on Reddit, and Respawn Entertainment’s director of comms, Ryan K. Rigney, responded to the thread. He said “never even heard of this before, but I think we ought to take it seriously. Letting the team know.”
Hopefully the devs are quick to address this issue so that sky-m1n and other players with epilepsy can continue to enjoy Apex Legends in Season 9.

Unreleased Apex Legends Legacy Valkyrie skins revealed by dataminers
Apex Legends Season 9: legacy saw the introduction of new Legend, Valkyrie and dataminers have already found some new recolors for her skins.
Apex Legends’ newest addition hasn’t been out for long, as the Legacy update was released on May 4th. However, dataminers have still managed to find further upcoming content for the new character, including some interesting recolors of some Apex Legends Valkyrie skins.
Apart from the server issues on release day, the latest Legend, Valkyrie, has been available for fans to experience, bringing a new dimension to the game’s roster. Dataminers have been quick to explore the new code, revealing some of the new Legends’ upcoming skin recolors.
The new update has allowed dataminers to provide fans with some interesting insights into upcoming Apex Legends content. They have revealed two future events, Origins and Arenas Flash, and presented 3 new recolors for Valkyrie’s base skins.
Apex Legends Valkyrie skins & recolors
Dataminer @Shrugtal is the one responsible for these new leaks, as well as the Revenant heirloom that was also revealed recently.
The skin recolors revealed are for these base Legendary skins:
- Military Grade
- Assure Blessing
- Titan Tested
When will the recolors come out?
It’s unsure when players will be able to purchase these recolors, especially as these are just leaks and anything datamined is subject to change, as it has not yet been announced or revealed by Respawn Entertainment in an official capacity.
However, we know that skin recolors are usually available to purchase in the exclusive store with Legend Tokens if you have the correct base skin.

Apex Legends devs address Season 9 loot issues
Various Apex Legends players have noticed some issues with the loot following the Season 9 update, and Respawn have responded to this.
While Apex Legends Season 9 brought a ton of new content to the battle royale, it also faced major server outages and various problems with in-game loot that Respawn Entertainment is investigating.
The Apex Legends Legacy update added a huge amount of new content being to the game. The update brought a brand-new battle pass, a new Legend named Valkyrie, 3v3 mode Arena, and a host of patch notes.
However, it also brought a host of server issues that kept players from logging into the battle royale. Now, there are other problems with the in-game loot, and Respawn Entertainment is looking into it.
Popular streamer Daltoosh discussed the Legacy update on Twitter and pointed out a notable decrease in the number of in-game backpacks and rare armors. Many of the commenters claimed to have noticed the same thing.

This led to a response from Apex Legends’ Producer, Josh Medina, who reassured fans that he’d have “folks check out the loot.” Respawn made very various changes to the loot pool due to the new starter kits.
The new kits will spawn you in with a level 1 shield, knockdown shield, and helmet, along with two syringes and two shield cells. The level 1 armor has been made much rarer, while level 1 helmets and knockdown shields have been removed.
It’s possible that this may have caused some unintentional changes to the in-game backpacks and the frequency of higher shield levels as well.
Unfortunately, players of the battle royale will have to put up with this problem in Apex Legends Season 9 until a fix is found. That said, it’s at least encouraging to hear that the developers are aware of it and are working on a solution.
