Apex Legends players desperate for new mode to solve teammate issues

Despite the success of Apex Legends in Season 10, players are desperate for a specific game mode that would help the game to grow and improve.

Season 10 of Apex Legends has seen the game’s audience and player base grow to new heights and reach great levels of popularity. However, players are desperate for a Solo game mode and believe that the game needs one to prevent teammate issues.

It’s hard to fault too much of what Respawn Entertainment has accomplished with Apex Legends, but players believe their continual misstep is not having a proper, dedicated Solo game mode.

Other popular battle royale games such as Warzone and Fortnite both offer a Solo option for players to pick up individual dubs, and players think it’s time for Respawn to finally do the same for Apex Legends.

The latest cry for an Apex Legends Solo mode comes from an appropriate Titanfall 2 meme that Reddit user sargent_crumds quoted: “Yeah that’s the problem with teams, if you don’t win together you die together.”

One of the top comments summarized the difference between Solos and teams with an anecdote: “Had a game tonight where my randoms would literally abandon me to kill my knocks and loot them.

“Then at the final two teams, the lifeline let herself die to the storm and Bangalore died trying to pick up said Lifeline. Ended up being a 1v3. Then a 1v2, but the last two were smart enough to push me together as one” they said.

This is all part of the reason for the OG saying: “And that is the reason I am asking for a solo mode in Apex.”

There was plenty of support for the game mode in the comments with one person, in particular, offering a logical stance on adding Solos: “We once had solos during an event and it never came back. Though I actually really liked it cause I didn’t have kids with no thumbs on my team dragging me down. I could only blame myself for losing a fight and not my team.”

Apex Legends players have wanted a Solos mode for a long time now, and with more and more players picking up the game, it may be something they take into consideration, maybe even making a new map for Solos play.

Apex Legends & Fortnite Twitch viewership takes major hit as Fall Guys surges

The rise of Fall Guys since going free-to-play has seemingly led to a drop in Twitch viewers for both Fortnite and Apex Legends.

Fall Guys has seen a massive bump in popularity since going free to play, so much so that it appears to have damaged rival battle royales Apex Legends and Fortnite’s popularity on Twitch.

For a few glorious months after its launch in 2020, Fall Guys was the hottest property in gaming. Millions of players took pleasure in dragging their clumsy jellybeans through outrageous levels in an attempt to be the last bean standing.

Despite being the most-downloaded PS Plus game of all time, Fall Guys failed to find the staying power that other battle royales like Warzone enjoyed. However, after going free-to-play and releasing on Switch and Xbox, the game saw its player base grow to over 20 million.

The resurgence of Fall Guys appears to have impacted its competitors too, with both Apex Legends and Fortnite taking a significant hit in Twitch viewership.

Fall Guys characters running through course

After going free-to-play in June, the latest Twitch figures show just how big a comeback Fall Guys has made. At the time of writing in July 2022, Fall Guys is the sixth most-viewed game on the platform with an average of 88,100 viewers.

This is a massive 22% increase from the previous week, placing Mediatonic’s quirky title alongside heavy hitters like Counter-Strike: GO and Escape from Tarkov.

What’s even more interesting is the effect that Fall Guys’ success has had on its rivals. Fortnite and Apex Legends have slipped behind Fall Guys with drops of 7.4% and 12.7% respectively, with Apex barely clinging on to a spot in the top 10.

Call of Duty: Warzone has also taken a significant dip, losing 16.2% of its Twitch audience in the last week.

Of course, it’s tough to tell if the drops seen by rival battle royales were directly caused by people tuning in to Fall Guys instead, but it’s definitely interesting to see such a drastic change in figures just after the game went F2P.

We’ll have to wait and see if Fall Guys can keep players and viewers on board this time around, but with Apex Legends Season 14 and Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 coming soon, Mediatonic has their work cut out for them.

Apex Legends devs respond to criticism by adding cheaper Apex Coins option

Respawn Entertainment have responded to player feedback by introducing a cheaper Apex Coins option in the game.

Apex coins in Apex Legends

In response to complaints from Apex Legends players about the high cost of Apex Coins, Respawn Entertainment have added a cheaper currency pack option to the game.

Apex Coins are the premium currency in Apex Legends that can you purchase with real money and then spend in order to get your hands on new cosmetic items for your Legends and weapons.

You may have to purchase bigger currency packs in order to get yourself certain items, and the Apex Legends community has been frustrated with the high cost of these. Now, the devs have responded to this issue.

Apex Legends Coin pack options

Apex Legends players that don’t have enough currency to unlock a specific item end up having to spend a lot on bigger currency packs. The cheapest bundle that you could get contained 1,000 Apex Coins and would set you back $9.99.

This can be particularly frustrating if you only need to use a small portion of the Apex Coins in the pack. Now, Respawn and EA have addressed this problem by adding the option to purchase currency packs with a 500 coin bundle for $4.99.

Now, you’ll be able to get yourself a decent number of Apex Coins without having to spend an extremely large amount of cash. Players that only need 400 Apex Coins to buy something, and no longer need to spend a whole $10 to do so.

The addition of this option will come as a huge relief to players that were tired of paying for currency that they didn’t need for an insanely high cost.

At the time of writing, the Apex Legends developers haven’t officially announced this change, but the arrival of this cheaper currency pack shows that they were listening to community feedback.

Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royales in the world, but when did it come out? Here’s everything you need to know about the game’s original release date.

From PUBG to Fortnite, Apex Legends to Warzone, the battle royale genre has truly dominated the gaming scene for the last five years. In fact, the mode has become so important to shooters that games that launch without one are viewed as missing a vital component.

Each battle royale brings its own spin to the genre, capturing the imagination of players looking for new experiences. For Fortnite, building set it apart from its opponents, while Warzone’s use of class loadouts made it different from anything else on the market.

For Apex Legends, the use of characters with special and unique abilities meant that nothing else on the market could match its high-octane action, and unsurprisingly, thousands still jump on and play years after its launch. But when did Apex Legends actually release?
