Apex Legends players spot a reference to Titanfall in Fuse
With Season 8 finally here, a few vigilant Apex Legends players were able to uncover an easter egg referencing Titanfall in the new Legend Fuse’s tactical ability.
Since Titanfall and Apex Legends are set in the same universe, there will inevitably be some hidden easter eggs that link the two. Respawn tends to hide these around the battle royale, and fans have a fun time looking for them.
Now that Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem is here, we have a ton of new content to dive into, and this includes a new Legend named Fuse. A few fans have noticed a reference to Titanfall in the explosives expert’s tactical ability.
Apex Legends players spot a connection between Fuse and Titanfall
Reddit user hugwalk made a post in the Apex Legends subreddit, where they pointed out that Fuse’s Knuckle Cluster ability has a different sound queue than the other Legends’ for when its cooldown timer has expired.
They did a comparison of his tactical ready sound with that of the other characters and made their point by including the sound of tactical in Titanfall. It turns out that the two sound extremely similar, and this left many of the commenters dumbfounded.
“So that’s why I like playing him. It’s messing with my subconscious,” one fan commented, and many others agreed with them.
Of course, this isn’t that big of a reference and could easily just be a simple coincidence. Some fans speculated that this could be a simple mixup, in which the devs ended up using an old sound file.
Others believe that this is a genuine callback to Respawn’s past, and appreciate the sentiment. Apex Legends has also made a few Titanfall references in the past, so this isn’t too surprising.
Respawn tend to tease their fans with fun little nods and callbacks, so this is likely a simple, but effective way to get Apex Legends players to scratch their heads.
