Apex Legends replaces Second Chance for Armor Regen due to bugs

Apex Legends devs addresses progression bugs for new War Games event, replacing Second Chance for Armor Regen.

Apex Legend’s new mini-event War Games went live yesterday. However, the first mode Second Chance was soon replaced after it introduced a host of bugs.

Upon the release of the Apex Legends War Games event, it seems the first mode wasn’t quite ready for players after it introduced a progression bug.

Players were noticing that kills and assists weren’t adding up after the game was ending, which the developers addressed on Twitter saying, “A bug with the Second Chance takeover in @PlayApex has prevented some stats from updating correctly,” leading them to replace it with Armor Regen.

Armour Regen prize tracker

War Games mode Armor Regen is simple, if you are out of action for a short amount of time, your shield will regenerate – like Wattson but much faster. Players will still have to be careful though, as if your shield fully breaks, it will take much longer to regenerate.

This leads to exciting fights, where characters with mobility like Pathfinder, Octane, and Horizon will excel, allowing them to get in and out of fights and regen their armor.

This update will allow players to make progress on the prize tracker for the Apex Legends event, which was bugged during the Second Chance mode.

The prize tracker features epic Rampart and 30-30 Repeater skins and can be completed by simply playing the game and completing event challenges. You can view the prize tracker underneath the War Games event challenges on the left side of the Apex Legends lobby screen.

Apex developers Respawn Entertainment addressed the situation quickly, adjusting the War Games schedule to replace Second Chance with the Armor Regen takeover. Armor Regen will now take its place in the schedule, lasting until Thursday, April 15th.

The next mode on the schedule is Ultra Zones! For more on Apex Legends event War Games and the upcoming Season 9 content, stay tuned on Charlie Intel.

Apex Legends Legacy: Valkyrie guide, tips & tricks

Apex Legends Legacy has arrived, along with the Legend Valkyrie, so we thought it would be a good idea to put out a guide on her abilities.

apex legends guide

Valkyrie hasn’t been out for long, but players are already finding great ways to use her abilities, so we compiled a guide. Valkyrie is a great addition to the Apex Legends roster, adding a new dimension to the game.

As well as Arenas, Apex Legends Legacy also introduced a new weapon, a fresh Battle Pass, and of course, a new Legend. Valkyrie is a great addition to the game, adding a certain verticality to the game, but her abilities can be somewhat difficult to master.

Although Valkyrie has only been out for a short period of time, players are already discovering the best situations to use her abilities in. Valkyrie’s abilities can be useful in many different ways, so let’s get into the guide.

How to unlock Valkyrie in Apex Legends

Valkyrie can be unlocked right now in the Legends section of the lobby menu. You can either purchase her with Legend Tokens, which are passively earned through playing the game, or Apex Coins, which is the Apex Legends currency that players can purchase with real money.

  • 12,000 Legend Tokens
  • 750 Apex Coins

Apex Legends Valkyrie guide: VTOL Jets

Valkyrie’s passive is by far the most attractive and exciting thing about her kit. The VTOL Jets allow her to take to the skies, hovering with a set amount of fuel to gain an advantage on the enemy.

Although the jets are very advantageous, they can also lead to a players elimination if not used correctly.

VTOL Jets tips & tricks

  • You can change the VTOL Jets from Toggle to Hold in the settings, which makes it much easier to control. This allows for a bunny hop-type of movement to gain speed by turning the jets on and off.
  • The VTOL Jets can boost you in any direction you are facing, allowing Valkyrie to quickly turn corners or do a fast 180, this is great for dodging bullets and evading enemies.
  • Try not to use her VTOL Jets too much, as they run out fairly quickly and are also very loud, try using them to gain an advantage over enemies rather than for convenience.
  • You can be very crafty with the Jets, for example, you can fake out opponents by dropping off an edge and flying straight back up behind them.

Valkyrie’s Tactical Ability: Missile Swarm

apex legends valkyrie guide missile swarm

Valkyrie’s tactical is a swarm of missiles that damages and causes stun on the enemy much like an Arc Star.

The Missile Swarm is surprisingly strong, although it only does 28 max damage, it can still be very useful as it stuns enemies on hit. The Missile Swarm has a 30-second cooldown, which is fairly long for a Legend’s tactical.

Missile Swarm tips & tricks

  • Think of the Missile Swarm as more of a stun that can lead to a push, rather than trying to use it to do damage.
  • Valkyrie’s tactical is extremely useful for getting opponents out of cover, especially when they retreat to heal up.
  • Combo Valkyrie’s Missile Swarm with the VTOL Jets, as it allows her to stay in the air longer and get a better angle for placing the tactical.
  • Try saving her tactical for the right situation, as it isn’t very hard for players to escape before it actually hits. Using it when the opponent isn’t aware of your position, or is distracted is the best time to release the Missiles.

Valkyrie’s Ultimate Ability: Skyward Dive

Skyward Dive is a useful rotation tool that can be used both offensively, and defensively. Valkyrie’s Ultimate allows her and the team to rise up and redeploy much like a redeploy balloon.

Although it takes a while to charge up, and the initiation animation takes a few seconds, leaving you open if used in the right way it can be very powerful.

Skyward Dive tips & tricks

  • Valkyrie can scan enemies while skydiving, which can be utilized with her ultimate, gaining knowledge on a push, or while escaping to know exactly where enemies are.
  • The time it takes to initiate the launch can leave you open to enemy fire, so try activating it behind some cover or even a Gibraltar Dome of Protection.
  • Save Valkyrie’s ultimate for dire situations rather than using it for convenience, use it to rotate and get to a better position before the enemies do.

That’s all for Valkyrie’s abilities, hopefully, they will help you become a winged menace and lead you to victory. If you like this guide and want to check out more Apex Legends content, keep it locked on Charlie INTEL and check out our article on the best way to spend crafting credits in Arenas.

Apex Legends Season 9 brings new option to report players for “smurfing”

With the Apex Legends Season 9 Legacy update finally underway respawn introduced a new option for reporting smurf accounts.

Report option for smurfing in Apex Legends Season 9

With Apex Legends Season 9 finally here, Respawn brought a ton of new content to the battle royale, including the option to report other players for ‘smurfing.’

The Apex Legends Legacy update has brought a plethora of exciting new additions like the new Legend Valkyriethe Arenathe Bocek Bow, and Infested Olympus, along with the return of World’s Edge.

Respawn Entertainment is also using the new update as an opportunity to crack down on cheaters. One of the new changes is a new function to report ‘smurfing’ in games, which will help them identify foul play.

Apex Legends Season 9 update

If you suspect a player of cheating in a match of Apex Legends, you can call out their offense by bringing up the “report” menu. This will give you various different options to choose from, including smurfing.

It’s likely that the true purpose of this feature isn’t to clamp down on smurfs, and is instead used to filter them, from full-blown cheaters. Other games also include the option to report others for smurfing, letting the devs investigate.

Respawn may have introduced this option because Apex players kept reporting suspected smurfs in their game with the ‘cheating’ option.

Apex Legends screen to Report Players

Having smurfing under a separate category from cheating might cause some controversy, as some players believe that the two should be treated as one and the same.

Other players believe that playing on different accounts isn’t a big deal, so it shouldn’t be prohibited. We don’t know for sure what action will be taken against accounts that have been reported for smurfing.

Apex Legends: Best way to spend credits in Arenas

With the Arenas mode out in Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy, let’s get into the ways players can spend their credits and take home the victory.

Apex Legends Arenas

Apex Legends Legacy update is finally here, and players are just starting to get to grips with the new Arenas mode. In this guide, we’ll take you through the best ways to spend your credits in the Arena.

Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy update has brought a huge amount of content to the game, becoming the biggest update since release. Players were clearly excited to play the update, with EA even experiencing some server issues, which prevented players from getting through the menu screen.

However, once the servers came back online, players were finally able to enjoy Valkyrie, Infested Olympus, the Bocek Bow, and of course, Arenas.

Apex Legends Arenas shop

What is Apex Legends Arenas?

Arenas is a 3v3 round-based mode where Legends must purchase weapons, cosmetics, and even abilities from a shop in the prematch area.

The prematch shop is open for 30 seconds, so make sure you know what your buying and don’t enter the battlefield empty-handed.

How to spend your first round credits

Apex Legends Arenas weapons

In the first round, all players will receive 550 credits, which isn’t much in the grand scheme of things. Players can either purchase cheap weapons, heals, or even save some money for later rounds.

We recommend you start off by purchasing a weapon like an Alternator or G7 Scout, depending on what your playstyle is. These weapons are both fairly strong as well as reasonably cheap, especially the G7 which is only 350 credits.

After you have a weapon sorted, you can then think about purchasing some meds. The healable we recommend is a Shield Battery, but if you purchased a G7 you’ll be able to buy a Med Kit as well.

Don’t worry too much about upgrading weapons or purchasing abilities in the first round, focus more on the fundamentals, getting a good gun so that you can defend yourself in the early rounds.

Best purchases for later rounds in Arenas

Apex Legends Arenas upgrades

In the later rounds, you should have enough money to buy a weapon of your choice and upgrade it. The most expensive weapons include the Charge Rifle, R-301, and the Bocek Bow. These are definitely worth getting, especially the Charge Rifle and the Bow if you are hitting your shots.

Its best to get both close range and long distance covered, a good load out we’ve been having success with is the Volt and the Bocek Bow. This combo is great for all ranges, and if you have enough to upgrade both, you could even get Shatter Caps on the Bow which acts similarly to a shotgun.

You could also purchase your Ultimate ability, which depending on the Legend your using, could win you the round.

Ultimately, you’ll need to figure out what weapons you like choosing for how many credits you have, picking cheaper weapons at the start, eventually working your way to a fully upgraded loadout, especially if you hit a deadlock.

Apex Legends Arenas deadlock

You’ll also need to take your playstyle into account. If you and your team like to get the crafting materials every round, you may have enough to get an upgraded weapon earlier, or if your team likes to get the care package that spawns with kitted weapons, you will be able to purchase more abilities and meds.
