Apex Legends’ new Storm Point map is set to be introduced in Season 11, bringing a new Wildlife system to the battle royale. Here’s how the critters will aid you in battle.
Respawn Entertainment gave us a great look at Storm Point in their recent blog, showing off all the POIs the map has to offer. As well as that, the developers also gave us details on how the Wildlife will work on Storm Point, so here’s everything you need to know.
What is Apex Legends storm Point Wildlife?
Although we’ve seen Wildlife in Apex Legends before, such as the Flyers on Kings Canyon and the Prowlers on World’s Edge, Storm Point is set to take Wildlife to another level.
The Wildlife will be everywhere on Storm Point, so for those interested in the way it will work and also how it can benefit you and the team, here’s all you need to know.
There will be loads of Wildlife on Storm Point, all of which will be located in different areas. Some animals players will be familiar with, others are completely new to the game.
The Wildlife will include:
Each of these critters will have their own designated locations, which they will not be able to escape from. Since the official map was revealed by Principal Level Designer Rodney Reece on Twitter, we finally got a better understanding of where the Wildlife will be situated on the map.
Prowlers will work similarly to how they have in the past, except this time they will spawn out of their mud mounds and attack players in packs who enter their territory.
Their health is similar to what it is on World’s Edge and players will need to eliminate them all as they spawn to reap the rewards.
The Spiders are said to have less health than the Prowlers, but are much faster and also hatch out of eggs as players enter their camp.
Spiders have ranged attacks, so they will be more of an annoyance from far rather than being up in your face.
The Flyers will also work similarly to how we’ve seen them before, as players will need to look to the skies and take them out to gain the rewards from them.
Flyers are spawned individually across the map and their positions are randomly selected from a predetermined list of possible spawn locations each match.
Storm Point Wildlife rewards
Wildlife Nests are denoted by the red markers on your minimap. All nests are static and finite, meaning every match they are always in the same place, with the same type of wildlife and only small variations in their numbers.
Wildlife respects their Nests’ boundaries and are aggressive only to trespassers that enter into their domain. Once a Wildlife Nest is cleared, it is removed from the map and your squad can reap the rewards.
Now a bit more on the types of rewards you’ll gain from battling the fauna of Storm Point:
- Smart Loot Drops: On death, Prowlers and Spiders have a chance to drop attachments and ammo for your squad based on your weapon loadouts, in addition to a few consumables and other goodies.
- EVO Points: A small percentage of all damage dealt to wildlife is rewarded towards your EVO Armor. This includes Flyers
- Crafting Materials: Clearing a Nest rewards a lump of crafting materials which are divided evenly among each squad member in the nest at time of completion.
So, as you can see, the Wildlife in Storm Point will be vital for teams in order to get the best loot and also evolve their shields. Further, for those teams who may have had an awkward start to the game and weren’t able to get the best loot, these camps will definitely help out.

Between the Arenas mode and Ranked Leagues to compete in, thousands of matches have already been logged in Season 11, and we will break down and find the Legends with the highest pick rates in Season 11.

Most picked legends in Apex Legends Season 11
5. Pathfinder – 8.7%
Pathfinder has slowly climbed his way up the rankings and gained many fans to become a part of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 8.7% and counting.
As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.
4. Bloodhound – 9.1%
Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 11.
Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 9.1%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.
3. Ash – 10.7%
As is always the case with a new season of Apex Legends, the debut of a new Legend usually drags tons of players away from their beloveds, and that has happened with Ash as she is in the top three with a pick rate of 10.7%.
Ash is a very offensive and aggressive Legend whose abilities let players launch deadly projectiles and also mark fresh deathboxes left behind by fallen players. This can help track players that have won a recent battle and could be prone to being jumped.
Ash’s Phase Breach ultimate can also give her a huge edge in battle and lead to potentially game-winning plays if used correctly.
2. Wraith – 11.4%
Another starting legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she is still well-represented at 11.4% in Season 11.
Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan-favorite in Apex Legends Season 11.
1. Octane – 11.9% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 11
The pick rate king has returned in Season 11 after the Ash hype died down. With an 11.9% pick rate, the speed demon is currently the most popular Legend in Apex Legends Season 11.
Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.
But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.
That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 11. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, affecting the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.
We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks, and don’t forget to check out our guide on the best audio settings for Apex Legends Season 11.

Clever Apex Legends Ash and Valkyrie trick lets players fly around the map
Apex Legends players have discovered a clever combo of Ash and Valkyrie’s abilities that lets them fly around the map.
Valkyrie can attack her enemies from above in Apex Legends, and some players have found a combo with her and the Season 11 Legend Ash that lets them fly around the map.
Apex Legends features many powerful characters who all have their own unique abilities. Valkyrie is a Legend that brings verticality to battles with her ability to soar through the air for a short period of time.
Now, a few players have discovered a clever trick through a combo of this flying character and the Season 11 Legend Ash. This tactic lets players soar much higher through the air than usual.
Reddit user ‘UnholyBeast’ highlighted this combo in the Apex Legends subreddit. You can pull off this trick by picking either Ash or Valkyrie while your teammate picks the other character you didn’t choose.
Once both Legends are in your team, here’s what you need to do:
- Head to the tallest building you can find on the map
- Fire Ash’s Phase Breach from the top of the building
- Launch Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive before the “out of bounds timer” finishes counting down
- Fly to any location that you would like to visit on the map
If you’re playing on World’s Edge, then you can get this done by heading to Fragment’s skyscrapers or the Skyhook buildings. You can also try visiting Storm Catcher on the Storm Point map or the rocks near Market on Kings Canyon.

This tactic can be incredibly helpful when you need to get around the map without having to frequently worry about enemies surprising you. You can take this opportunity to plan your strategy.

Does Apex Legends have split-screen?
Apex Legends is a very popular multiplayer battle royale game. Being free-to-play has definitely helped, but can you play split-screen?
Playing Apex Legends online with friends can be a blast, but some may want to share the experience on the same setup. For those interested, here’s the answer to whether or not Apex Legends has split-screen.
Gaming is an experience that should definitely be shared, whether you’re online or on the couch with friends and family.
There are some great local co-op games out there, but some may really want to know if they can play Apex Legends split-screen.
Here’s your answer.
Is Apex Legends split-screen?
At the time of writing this article, there is, unfortunately, no option for split-screen in the current state of Apex Legends. Of course, this could change as the game is constantly going through updates and improvements, but at the moment it is not available.
The only way players can enjoy the game together is by teaming up online through different systems. Luckily, there is cross-play, so whether or not your friend is on the same platform, you’ll be able to squad up and get in a game together.
It’s a shame that there currently isn’t an option for split-screen, as it does seem like something the players would want. On EA’s Answers HQ, one user even asked the devs to add split-screen to the game:
The developers have been great at providing new content for players and listening to feedback from the community over the seasons. They even recently revealed plans to help improve server stability.
Who knows, perhaps a split-screen mode will be available in the future, as similar games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty possess the feature.
