In the Apex Legends Season 11 patch notes, the developers revealed some pretty big ranked changes coming to the game.
Let’s check out all the Apex Legends ranked changes coming in Season 11.
Apex Legends Ranked Leagues is a competitive space for players to improve their skills and climb the ranks.
Although a lot of players aren’t too fond of the tense gameplay and would prefer to play more casually in public games, Ranked Leagues is great for those who love competition.
With that being said, a lot of changes were detailed in EA’s latest blog relating to the Apex Legends ranked system, so let’s take a deep dive into what will be happening.
Apex Legends Ranked changes
First off, there are changes coming to the RP system in Battle Royale, which concerns how RP works.
Starting in Season 11:
- Kill RP values now take differences between killer/victim Ranked tiers into account.
- The kill RP cap (as we have traditionally thought about it up to this point) is effectively being raised from six to seven. However, this kill-related RP cap can be reached in different ways, depending on tier differences and placement. Placement is still paramount, and you still must place first to have a chance at max total RP.
To expand on the first point, tier differences between the killer and victim will be taken into account when calculating baseline kill point value.
For example, if a Plat player kills a Diamond player, that kills count as 12 instead of 10 RP.
|Tier Difference||Kill Points|
Some points of clarification:
- Victims do not lose more or less points when killed (in terms of entry cost). Only the killer receives the modifier.
- Apex Predator and Master are treated as the same tier.
- An encounter rate with someone of a 3+ tier difference is ultra-rare (less than 0.1%). Ranked matchmaking is staying the same, so in general, you’ll come across identical tiers. In cases where you squad up with a different rank friend or merge into a different tier lobby, your KP will be adjusted appropriately.
After tier differences are taken into account for kill points, a flat per kill bonus is added based on placement.
|Final Placement||Per Kill Bonus|
|2 – 3||10|
|4 – 5||5|
|6 – 10||2|
|11 – 14+||0|
The maximum kill point RP is 175. Any kill-related RP that exceeds that after placement and tier modifiers are added doesn’t affect total RP. Respawn explained this change very well with an example that was given in the patch notes:
“As a Platinum player, you party up with your Diamond friend and matchmake into a lobby with similarly skilled players. You snag second place, with 6 kills (and/or assists) against Diamond players, and 3 on Plat players.
Each kill on those Diamond players is worth 12 points instead of the typical 10, because they are one rank tier higher than you. That leaves us with (12 × 6) + (10 × 3) = 102 RP.
Now let’s take placement into account. In second, the per kill bonus is 10, so our 9 kills (including assists) × 10 = 90 RP.“
Apex Legends Arenas Ranked changes
Respawn seems to have learned a lot from the first season of Ranked arenas and are eager to bring some improvements:
- Arenas Ranked now has 2 splits, similar to Ranked Battle Royale
- Along with each new season and split, there is a soft MMR reset and new placement matches. New seasons require the usual 10 placement matches while a new split only requires 5 placement matches.
- Improvements have been made to matchmaking for finding similarly skilled teammates.
- Reduced the AP amount gained or lost from MMR differences between teams.
Well there you have it, that’s all the upcoming Apex Legends ranked changes for Season 11, for more make sure you check out every POI in the new map Storm Point.

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 13.
Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 8.6%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.
4. Pathfinder – 9.2%
Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 9.2%, and counting, for quite some time now.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.
3. Valkyrie – 10.1%
Despite getting some nerfs, Valkyrie is in the top 5 Legend pick rates for Season 13 with 10.1%, as she is the movement Queen. Her Jetpack Passive allows players to escape any kind of situation, which is crucial for survivability.
As well as her Passive, her Skyward Dive Ultimate is also great for mobility. This ability is the best rotational tool in all of Apex Legends, as it allows her and the team to relocate from a bad position or situation, into a good one.
Lastly, Valkyrie’s Tactical is also extremely useful for being aggressive and getting enemies out of camping spots, so long as you have enough room above you to launch the Missile Swarm.
2. Wraith – 10.2%
Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number two spot with a 10.2% pick rate in Season 13.
Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan favorite in Apex Legends Season 13.
1. Octane – 11.2% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 13
With a 11.2% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number one spot, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 13, fluctuating between the top two places.
Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.
But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.
That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 13. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.
We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out our guide on the best Legends to choose in Season 13.

Crazy Apex Legends glitch adds third-person mode to Season 13
A new Apex Legends glitch is allowing players to change their camera angle from first-person to third during battle royale matches.
Apex Legends players have found a new glitch that turns the player’s view into third-person for the rest of the match.
Apex Legends is a first-person shooter in its thirteenth season, but as some fans will know, Respawn have played around with a third-person mode in the past, with an LTM and easter egg to activate the perspective in the Firing Range.
With that being said, there is currently no official way to play the game in third-person, unless you are playing Apex Legends Mobile. However, it seems players have found a new glitch that allows them to do so.
Apex Legends content creator Skeptation highlighted a new glitch that players can perform during matches of battle royale that turns the camera from first-person to third.
In order to perform this glitch, players must have a Valkyrie on their team with the Skyward Dive Ultimate. Then, players will need to sit inside an open Loot Bin and get the Valkyrie to activate their Ultimate on top of it so that they can connect to the Skyward Dive.
Once Valkyrie initiates the launch, the Loot Bin will trap the player and prevent them from taking off, eventually allowing players to just walk around in third-person mode.
The glitch isn’t difficult to do, and while being in third-person may seem like a big advantage, it is very buggy, as the camera actually clips under the map when you slide and you will constantly have a cable attached to you that’s is connected to Valkyrie.
Also, when you ADS in this glitched third-person perspective, it locks your camera. There is also no crosshairs to see where you’re shooting, making it very difficult to play.
If you then connect to Valkyrie’s Ultimate once more after activating the third-person glitch, you will get thrown very fast in a random direction, sometimes clipping you out of the map and subsequently causing you to die.
While it may be fun to try out, we definitely don’t recommend players doing this glitch, especially in the ranked mode, as it could result in you receiving a ban.
