Tropical Island map in Apex Legends

A Tropical Island map is heading to Apex Legends according to a series of new leaks, here’s everything we know about the new arena so far, from the release date to how it will play.

Apex Legends Season 11 is edging ever closer, and fans are lapping up every teaser they can find for the next chapter.

While new characters and a fresh battle pass are a given, leaks have hinted strongly that a new map is in the works, joining Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and Olympus.

Check out everything we know about the rumored Tropical Island map right here.

Tropical Island map features and details

An in-game teaser from Respawn appears to have hinted that the tropical new map is heading into the battle royale sooner rather than later.

The existence of the map is yet to be officially confirmed, but it would fit with the developer’s history of making each new battleground visually distinct from the rest.

Apex insider Shrugal also revealed information about the new map in a video back in August, where he discussed evidence he had found about how it will play.

Wildlife

One of the most drastic new features that Shrugal mentioned is the inclusion of AI wildlife that is expected to roam around the map.

The leaker found code on a test map and believes that the animals will be a “persistent map feature and threat.”

He gave an example that players may have to fight off waves of spiders to earn valuable loot.

Wildlife is a feature that Apex’s rival Fortnite has embraced in recent seasons as a way of gaining resources.

Vehicles

If the leaks so far are to be believed, the Tropical Island map is set to feature the Trident vehicles that are currently only found on Olympus.

Shrugal claimed that the vehicles are influencing the way the map is being designed, as a way to encourage players to make use of the transport.

Climate

It appears that the new map will be wetter and dirtier than the other maps in the rotation, fitting in with the tropical theme.

Textures found in the files by Shrugal mentioned “Muddy Trident Vehicles,” which from screenshots appears to mean that outside of the vehicles will be far less pristine than on Olympus.

Apex Legends Tropical Island map release date

If the leaks are true, we’re expecting the Tropical Island map to launch on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

This would line it up with the date that Apex Legends Season 11 is due to kick-off, exactly three months since Season 10: Emergence got underway.

We’re still awaiting word from the developers, so be sure to check back here for all the latest updates

That was everything we know so far about the next map heading to Apex Legends. Season 11 is not too far away, so fans can expect more concrete information very soon.

Season 13 of Apex Legends has tons of characters to choose from to enjoy its several maps. But who has the top Season 13 pick rates in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?

Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many popular streamers such as NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect continuing to support the game, Apex is continuing to grow expeditiously.

There are now a whopping 21 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. With Season 13 now underway, Newcastle is the latest to join the roster.

Let’s take a look at how the new Legend has shaken up the roster by looking at the current Legend pick rates in Season 13, which provides an idea of who the most popular Legends are.

Most picked Legends in Apex Legends Season 13

5. Pathfinder – 7.8%

Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 7.8%, and counting, for quite some time now.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.

4. Bloodhound – 8.7%

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 13.

Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 8.7%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.

3. Valkyrie – 9.4%

Despite getting some nerfs, Valkyrie is in the top 5 Legend pick rates for Season 13 with 9.4%, as she is the movement Queen. Her Jetpack Passive allows players to escape any kind of situation, which is crucial for survivability.

As well as her Passive, her Skyward Dive Ultimate is also great for mobility. This ability is the best rotational tool in all of Apex Legends, as it allows her and the team to relocate from a bad position or situation, into a good one.

Lastly, Valkyrie’s Tactical is also extremely useful for being aggressive and getting enemies out of camping spots, so long as you have enough room above you to launch the Missile Swarm.

2. Octane – 10.2%

With a 10.2% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number two spot, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 13, fluctuating between the top two places.

Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.

But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.

1. Wraith – 10.7% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 13

Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number one spot with a 10.7% pick rate in Season 13.

Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan favorite in Apex Legends Season 13.

That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 13. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.

We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out our guide on the best Legends to choose in Season 13.

Apex Legends pro claims Season 13 ranked changes will make you a better player

An Apex Legends pro has come out in support of the Season 13 ranked changes, claiming it will make players better.

Published

on

After receiving backlash, Apex Legends pro Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith has shared his thoughts on the new Season 13 ranked system, claiming it will improve players.

Apex Legends Season 13 brought some drastic changes to the ranked system, changing the way players gain points and grind through the ranks.

Previously, the system had been more focused on kills, but the new system places emphasis on placement. This has made it harder for players to earn points and level up, as the lobbies have become much more competitive in the final zones.

In Apex Legends Season 13’s Ranked Leagues, players are encouraged to stay alive and play for the win, rather than getting a load of kills. This had led to more squads and players being alive in final circles, making it harder to gain points.

While the community hasn’t been particularly fond of these changes, seasoned Apex Legends pro Albralelie gave his opinions on this new system, supporting the dev’s changes while making some controversial comments.

In a recent stream, the Apex Legends pro shared his feelings towards the changes, believing the new ranked changes are healthy for the game, which is contrary to the community’s reaction.

Ultimately, the pro feels as if the new changes are going to make players better at the game. Albralelie says that the new system “caters to you being able to actually improve as you climb…don’t get defeated.”

The streamer and Apex pro also made some interesting comments on solo players while answering a question about whether solo players should be able to reach the higher ranks.

The pro makes a controversial statement: “should a solo player be able to reach Masters in a team-based competitive BR? Just because it happened before doesn’t mean it was supposed to happen, right?”

It’s interesting to hear a professional Apex Legends player’s take on the new ranked system, especially as casual players have been pretty upset with the changes. All in all, the pro feels it will make players better, and even if players are now in lower ranks than they’re used to, they should use it as motivation to improve.

Clever Apex Legends trick reverts Kraber nerfs

With this clever trick, Apex Legends’ Kraber Sniper Rifle becomes a one-shot machine yet again, even after nerfs.

Published

on

Apex Legends players have found a way to make the Kraber Sniper Rifle one-shot kill yet again after the Season 13 nerfs.

Apex Legends Season 13 brought some pretty huge changes to the game, especially when it comes to the Legends and weapon meta.

As well as some major Valkyrie nerfs and the introduction of Newcastle, Season 13 also nerfed the only one-shot kill weapon in the game, the Kraber.

This combined with the Helmet buffs caused a change in the weapon’s one-shot headshot potential, but this new trick reverts the changes.

Prior to the nerfs, the Kraber would one-shot any Legend as long as it was a headshot. This made the weapon extremely powerful and useful in end-game situations, as just one shot could change the tide of a fight.

Now, in Season 13, as long as players have the correct armor requirements, the Kraber is no longer a guaranteed one-shot kill.

Having said that, thanks to Apex Legends content creator RossTheeSquirrel, there is indeed a way for players to one-shot any Legend with the Kraber even after the Season 13 patch.

By shooting through Rampart’s Tactical ability, Amped Cover, players actually gain an increase in damage as the shielded wall “amps outgoing shots.”

This increases the Kraber’s headshot damage to revert the Season 13 nerfs, making it a one-shot headshot against any Legend no matter what armor they are wearing.

While Rampart hasn’t been considered the most popular Legend in Apex according to the pick rates, she received a buff in Season 13 and players seem to be more interested in giving her a try.

Now, she also has this added benefit of being the only Legend that has the capabilities to make the Kraber a one-shot kill again, perhaps those who love the Kraber will give her a chance.
