Apex Legends 1.94 update: Next-gen fixes, Storm Point placeable ability issues, & more
Apex Legends players received a new 1.94 update on April 11 which brings a variety of fixes for issues on next-gen and also Storm Point.
As we edge closer to Season 13, Respawn continue to push out updates for Apex Legends in Season 12 that address various issues experienced by players.
Since the next-gen versions of Apex Legends were released, players have been fairly dissatisfied with its performance, especially Xbox players as third-party controllers seemed to stop working.
Thankfully, Respawn have pushed out the 1.94 update which looks to combat the issue and more.
Apex Legends Season 12 next-gen fixes
With many players disappointed to have their settings reset without warning and no option for 120Hz frame rate, the next-gen versions of Apex Legends failed to impress upon launch.
Having said that, Respawn have stated that they will be pushing out updates regularly to improve player experience on next-gen consoles and it seems the 1.94 update is doing just that.
The Apex Legends 1.94 update brings fixes for the following:
- Third-party controllers not working on Xbox Series X|S.
- Various next-gen console fixes.
This is great for those on Xbox who like to use third-party controllers, as the next-gen version of the game previously wasn’t recognizing them.
There are no specific details for the “various next-gen console fixes,” but one can assume it is to benefit the overall optimization and performance of Apex Legends on next-gen.
Storm Point placeable abilities bug
Upon the Apex Legends Season 12 split update, players began to notice some issues with the Storm Point map when playing certain Legends.
They noticed that Legends with placeable abilities, like Wattson and Pathfinder, were unable to place their abilities as freely as they previously could.
This bug was then brought up with the devs, who stated that a fix was incoming. The 1.94 brings this fix, as players should now be able to use these Legends on Storm Point and be able to place their abilities as freely as they were prior to the update.
Apex Legends 1.94 update patch notes
The update also brings fixes for Control and the Bangalore Story Event. Players had previously been getting an odd FOV bug after completing the Bangalore Story Event, but this should now be fixed.
Further, there were some performance issues with Control which have also been addressed in this update.
- Issues with placeable abilities on Storm Point.
- Third-party controllers not working on Xbox Series X|S.
- Various next-gen console, Control, and Bangalore Story Event fixes.
That’s all for the Apex Legends 1.94 update. For more, check out everything we know about the suspected Season 13 Legend Newcastle.
