Apex Legends gets new Bocek Bow and Infested Olympus for Season 9: Legacy
After revealing the highly anticipated new Legend, Valkyrie, Respawn also presented a new Bocek Bow weapon and Infested Olympus for Season 9: Legacy.
The latest installment for Respawn Entertainment’s Stories from the Outlands series saw Valkyrie’s backstory and introduction into the lore of Apex Legends. Along with this exciting new character, we also got more details on the highly anticipated Season 9: Legacy.
Over on EA’s website, new teasers and details were revealed about the content arriving in Season 9, including interesting map changes that include Infested Olympus and a new Bocek Bow weapon. It seems Respawn has decided to scrap numbering seasons and stick with a name for future seasons, simply calling Season 9 Legacy.
Bocek Bow Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy
The new weapon for Apex Legends Legacy has been revealed as the already leaked bow weapon, which has been officially named the Bocek Bow.
The Bocek Bow is described as a “powerful and deadly weapon” and mentions it is for those with skill. Perhaps this will be a weapon that will take some practice, much like the most recent 30-30 Repeater.
The description also reads that it can do “tremendous damage at medium range,” but you’ll also “need to make every shot count.” This suggests the weapon will be mid to long-range and will also have a shorter magazine size, or quiver size, as you’ll need to be accurate.
Dataminer @Shrugtal also had more to add over on Twitter, stating the weapon will be in a new class of weapons called “Marksman” and take unique “Arrow” ammo. The weapon will also have a Hop-up called Splitter Arrows, which could see the weapon take on a more versatile function, increasing its spread in an X shape.
Infested Olympus Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy
Another interesting update that came with the Valkyrie reveal was the details on the Season 9 map changes to Olympus. It seems Olympus will be getting a dramatic update at the start of Season 9, which will begin May 4th.
Apex Legends’ latest map Olympus, will take on a new infested look, with the city being overrun by roots and “natural growth”.
Shrugtal has already unearthed a clearer idea of what we can expect from editing the background of the Infested Olympus section of EA’s Legacy reveal on their website.
The dataminer also revealed where the image is located for fans to understand how overrun the city will become, with giant vines and roots.
This is not the first time we have seen something like this from Respawn, as a fan on Twitter pointed out that the Titanfall series also presented a similar overgrowth on the multiplayer map Exo-Planet.
