Apex Legends dev confirms fix coming to “broken” Arenas matchmaking
Respawn Entertainment have responded to complaints from frustrated Apex Legends players who claim that the game’s Arena matchmaking is teaming them up with players below their skill level.
The Apex Legends Legacy update brought a plethora of cool new content to the battle royale, including the new character Valkyrie, and the Bocek Bow weapon. However, the real standout has been the 3v3 Arenas mode.
While this mode has been received well by fans overall, various players have complained about the matchmaking, which often teams them up with players below their skill level. So, Respawn have promised a fix for this.
Reddit user JimeeB made post expressing frustration at the matchmaking. Many experienced players often find themselves with those who are just picking up the game for the first time.
“I’m well over 500 with just under 3K hours in the game,” the user said. “But I just played 10 matches of Arenas where not one of my teammates was above level 150.”
This caught the attention of Respawn’s Lead Software Engineer Samy ‘ricklesauceur’ Duc, who responded with “I am working on it.”
He reassured fans that a fix is coming for this problem. “Overall the fairness of a game is pretty even but we understand it is a bit tiring when level disparity is high in your team composition. It will improve.”
While ricklesauceur didn’t provide fans with an exact date for when this change will arrive, it’s reassuring to know that Respawn are taking problem seriously. Hopefully, the upcoming changes will make Arenas feel well-balanced.
This post received many upvotes and comments from players who experienced the same thing. Apex fans are always willing to let the devs know where the game needs improvements, and they recently called for changes to the SBMM.
We’ll keep checking for updates regarding this, and will let you know once there are any more developments. Stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for more Apex Legends content!
