Apex Legends devs confirm fix for Xbox server crashing exploit in Season 13
Apex Legends players will be happy to hear that the Xbox server crashing issue that has been ruining games, especially in ranked, has officially been fixed by the devs.
Apex Legends Season 13 brought massive changes to the ranked system, which pros even believe will make players much better at the game despite the adverse community reaction.
Unfortunately, players on consoles couldn’t enjoy the new system to the extent that they maybe wanted to due to a serious exploit plaguing the experience and causing servers to crash.
Luckily, it seems the devs have fixed the issue with a hotfix that went live on May 25.
In Apex Legends Season 13, Xbox players noticed that they were able to crash the server and prevent themselves from losing Ranked Points by doing so. This was ruining the experience for others, especially as Apex Legends is cross-platform.
While some believed this was a DDoS issue, the devs confirmed it was an exploit on Xbox and pushed a fix on May 18. Unfortunately, the fix didn’t work, and Xbox players were still able to crash servers and ruin matches for others.
This has been very damaging for players who have been trying to rank up and enjoy the brand new ranked changes, even turning people off from playing the game.
A Respawn dev let the community know that another hotfix went live on May 25 which seems to have fixed the issue caused by players on Xbox consoles.
So far, it seems like this fix has done the trick, as players have not been reporting the issue in the community.
Finally, players can enjoy the ranked grind without having to worry about the game crashing and wasting time in a match that could all end in nothing.
