A strange issue has been causing Apex Legends players lose all their hard-earned progression and rewards, including rare Heirloom cosmetics, so Respawn have come up with a solution.

When you hop into a game of Apex Legends, you have the opportunity to play well and level up. However, a strange new glitch is causing a few PlayStation accounts to lose all their progression and rewards.

These players lost many of their hard-earned items, including heirlooms, which is particularly frustrating after hours of grinding through different matches. Luckily, Respawn have investigated the matter, and come up with a solution.

The Apex Legends developers first began looking into the problem back in February, as they tried to figure out the source of the issue. Now, they’ve discovered the cause, and come up with a way to fix it.

“We’ve identified an issue with a database shard which we believe has been contributing to the recent progression issues for PlayStation players,” they wrote. “We will be migrating players off this shard, which may result in disconnects.”

The easiest way to prevent this problem from happening is to move players’ data onto a different section. If you’ve already lost some or all of your data then don’t worry, as it will be completely restored.

The downside is that affected players will to endure some downtime and connection issues. They might face lingering visual issues like the level on the banner trackers being wrong until they play and complete one match.

However, it’ll be functioning properly again as soon as the data transfer is complete. By that point, players will be able to get back into a match without having to worry about losing their heirlooms.

This is ideal as a new one might be coming for Crypto. We’ll keep an eye on this unfortunate bug, and will update you if there are any further developments.
