Various Wattson fans have been asking the Apex Legends developers to make some balancing changes to her, so Respawn has confirmed a buff for her along with a nerf to her hitbox.

Apex Legends received a ton of changes in the origin-themed Collection Event called “Genesis.” The update not only brought back the original forms of Kings Canyon and World’s Edge, but also changed up weapons and Legends.

Players were disappointed that a troll Wattson buff was in the patch notes, so one of the developers confirmed an upcoming nerf for her. Now, Respawn has stated that they’re going to work on balancing her hitbox.

Developer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson went on Apex Uncut on July 15 to talk about Respawn’s plans for Wattson. He made it clear that the Legend won’t be getting a “straight-up buff” anytime soon.

After explaining how Wattson is at the top of both Arenas and Battle Royale, the dev then elaborated that the first solution they’re considering for the Legend is a potential hitbox change.

“So we beefed out Lifeline a bit, make her hitbox match a bit better, and Wattson, when we make these changes, will inevitably, for the health of the game, most likely a hitbox change will accompany that.”

However, Respawn also wants to ensure that the balancing changes they implement will make Wattson more enjoyable to play, without completely overpowering her.

“We wouldn’t be so cheeky if we didn’t have changes in the works,” said JayBiebs. “Right now we’re trying to work on the fun factor for her. There’s a lot of usability there that we can change, a lot of changes with the ultimate. We are working on it.”

We might see these changes implemented in Season 10. For more Apex Legends, keep it locked on Charlie Intel, and check out our hub on the new Thrillseekers event,
