Apex Legends player defies the odds by receiving Heirloom Shards in back-to-back packs
Apex Legends’ Heirloom cosmetic items are the rarest and most illustrious item in the game. However, they may not be to one lucky player.
Many OG Apex Legends players will have an Heirloom in Season 11, having played the game through multiple seasons. Some of the new players may not even know what an Heirloom is.
These Legend melee items are the most sought-after cosmetics in the game, with a very slim chance to receive Heirloom Shards in a pack. Some players who have been around since Season 1 are lacking an Heirloom, perhaps waiting for the next Collection Event to obtain one.
Having said that, one lucky player seems to have defied the odds.
In order to get an Heirloom, you either have to get lucky, or purchase one in a Collection Event. With Season 11’s Collection Event still to come, players have an opportunity to get what could be Wattson’s Heirloom according to leaks.
The thing about purchasing Heirlooms in the Collection Events is that you can’t decide which one you get. When you get Heirloom Shards in a pack you get the freedom to pick from the bunch. Currently, there are 11 Heirlooms in the game.
One lucky player managed to beat the 1 in 500 chance of receiving Heirloom Shards, getting them in back-to-back packs, which is truly outrageous.
Back-to-back Heirlooms
Reddit user Moja11122233 is the lucky player responsible for beating these odds. They put up a post in the Apex Legends subreddit showing off their back-to-back Heirloom Shard packs.
As you can tell by the player’s reaction, this is pretty crazy and may also be their first Heirloom Shards. After the first set of shards, the player says “we finally got it, boys, we finally did it,” suggesting it is indeed the first time they have obtained Heirloom Shards.
The player then opens up another pack straight after, and you better believe they got the same result. Believing it’s a “glitch,” the reaction is of disbelief, not actually believing it until they check the Heirloom counter.
The chances of receiving two back to back is extremely slim. The feat even drew a reaction from one of the game’s developers: “cool now im freakin jealous and ive had all the ‘looms since wombs.”
What is quite suspicious though is that the second pack of Heirloom Shards they received didn’t take away their pack count. They opened the pack with only two left, and after getting the shards for the second time, they still have two left.
Perhaps this is some sort of glitch and will be looked into by the devs. One thing is for sure though, this player was truly blessed and is no doubt enjoying the rewards.
