Apex Legends update 1.96 patch notes
Apex Legends Season 13 is well underway and on May 23 the battle royale received a new update. Here are the patch notes for the Apex Legends 1.96 update.
Apex Legends Season 13 introduced a lot of change and new content such as Newcastle and the reworked ranked system.
Unfortunately, those on consoles have been having a tough time in the Ranked Leagues as the servers have been unstable with DDoS’ers crashing matches and ruining the experience.
As well as this, Newcastle’s Ultimate caused a bug with Wraith’s Phase, but luckily May 23 brought the 1.96 update to address the issue.
Apex Legends 1.96 update patch notes
The Apex Legends 1.96 update is approximately 400MB on PC and 600MB on consoles.
Currently, there are no official patch notes from Respawn showing what the 1.96 update has done for the game. Having said that, we do have an idea based on known issues that are now fixed and a tweet from a dev.
Newcastle’s introduction in Season 13 brought a couple of issues, including an exploit for his own Ultimate ability. When Newcastle’s Castle Wall is placed, enemies that try to climb the walls are stunned and damaged by electricity.
Players noticed that this would cause damage to Wraith when she was in her Tactical ability, which is meant to make her invulnerable to all damage. This May 23 update has now fixed this issue according to a Tweet made by RSPN_Pav.
Not much else is known about the patch, but many suspect that it was simply just a hotfix to address this issue with Wraith. There are currently some bad server issues with players on consoles, as there is an exploit that some are using to crash servers.
Hopefully, this can be fixed as soon as possible, as it is causing massive issues for players in Ranked. We’ll be sure to update you on any new information on Apex Legends as it’s released.
