Apex Legends World’s Edge map set for major changes according to leaks
According to leaks, the Apex Legends World’s Edge map is set for some major changes, including the destruction of the famous streamer building and a new Town Takeover for Wattson.
Apex Legends Season 15 brought a brand-new map to the battle royale, but now that players have had a decent amount of time to experience Broken Moon and the new Legend Catalyst, the community is looking toward future updates and content.
The Apex Legends World’s Edge battle royale map is a fan favorite, with the Fragment East and West POIs being among the most popular hot drop spots in all of Apex Legends.
That said, the devs may be looking to make some drastic changes to the map, including a change to the iconic “streamer building.”
We’ve already had leaks suggesting the arrival of a new Assault Rifle and the potential removal of Arenas in Season 16, but now leaker Thordan Smash is reporting huge changes for World’s Edge.
According to Thordan Smash, players should “Enjoy Apex Legends Worlds Edge well you can,” as the map could undertake some hefty changes soon. World’s Edge is currently one of the three maps in the Season 15 rotation, so players still have time to play it.
Thordan explains the potential Apex Legends World’s Edge changes further, saying that from what he has heard, “fragment would be updated and that streamer building would be gone.”
Fragment on World’s Edge is easily one of the most popular POIs in the whole of Apex Legends. The location has become iconic, especially the building which has been coined “streamer building” by the community due to its high activity and potential for incredibly great plays, which streamers often take advantage of for highlights.
Further, the leaker also states that a Town Takeover is coming on World’s Edge, which will be for Wattson. Thordan states that the “town-takeover planned for Wattson” will replace Storm Point’s Lightning Rod POI.
Storm Point is currently not in the map rotation for Season 15, so if the leaks are accurate, we expect this change to be brought in Season 16 when the map returns from season-long hiatus.
None of these leaks are confirmed, so take this information with a pinch of salt. When Respawn Entertainment officially announces any changes to World’s Edge or the new Town Takeover, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
