Does Apex Legends have a solo mode? Solo Takeover start & end date
Yes, Apex Legends has a solo mode as of Season 21‘s release on May 7, 2024. The mode has replaced Duos for a 7-week period with the Solo Takeover, which ends on June 24, 2024.
Apex Legends Solos sees players head into a match by themselves in a battle to claim victory against 49 other players.
Apex Legends Solo Takeover mode explained
Solo Takeover is Apex Legends’ temporary solo mode that’s replacing Duos for the start of Season 21. It’s battle royale, but without squads, as you can only enter the match as a solo. There are a total of 50 players in Solo Takeover, and you can only win by being the last player standing.
There are some new mechanics in Solo Takeover such as “Battle Sense,” which allows you to detect nearby enemies. The mode also features auto heal, allowing you to gain health back while out of combat and after each kill. There’s also “Second Chance,” a feature that gives players another go at victory.
Second Chance allows you to automatically respawn one time if you die before the first four rounds. If you don’t use the respawn, your Second Chance is converted to EVO points.
The Apex Legends solo mode also features some additional changes such as loot pool, circle size, and round time adjustments to make the solo experience smoother.
Apex Legends Solos brings new 20 kill badge & more
The new Solo Takeover mode in Apex Legends Season 21 also brings some new badges to earn, including a new 20 kill badge. To get it, you’ll need to get 20 kills in one match of the Solo Takeover mode in Apex Legends before it is removed on June 24, 2024.
There are a variety of Apex Legends Solos badges to earn, including one for winning a Solos match, getting high damage, and more.
Is Apex Legends solo mode permanent?
Apex Legends Season 21’s solo mode is not permanent, as it will be replaced by Duos on June 24, 2024, giving players 7 weeks to enjoy it.
There’s always a chance that the devs decide to make Solos a permanent mode in Apex Legends if the demand is high enough, as that’s what they did with the Mixtape Playlist, which features fan-favorite LTMs Gun Run, TDM, and Control.
If anything changes and the devs announce an extension or potential permanent solo mode, we’ll be sure to update this article so stay tuned.
