New game modes and Ranked Solos leaked for Apex Legends
A brand new leak has revealed some more game modes that might be making their way to Apex Legends in Season 8. This includes the long-awaited Ranked Solos mode and a new version of Kings Canyon.
Apex Legends Season 8 is almost here, which means that there’s a ton of exciting new content to look forward to. We might see a brand new Legend join the roster, some improvements for existing characters, and even new LTMs.
The battle royale has seen its share of different game modes over its Seasons, and the recent Fight Night Collection Event brought the Airdrop Escalation LTM. Now some new leaks are suggesting that the devs are planning to change things up even more.
According to these leaks, Respawn Entertainment will be introducing Ranked Solos and brand new game modes in an upcoming update. Here’s everything we know so far.
Is there a Ranked Solo mode in Apex Legends Season 8?
This leak came from data-miner SomeoneWhoLeaks, who posted images of someone testing out a few new game modes on January 14. These are planned to be revealed to fans when Season 8 of the battle royale goes live.
We see appearances from the Arenas Team Deathmatch mode, along with one titled “Anniversary Event Kings Canyon.” The leak also shows off some game modes called “Locked and Loaded” and “Death Trigger.”
Looking closely, we can also spot a reference to a Ranked Solos mode. This stands out from the others as it is labeled with “#PL_Ranked_Leagues_solo!”
This is something that will greatly please Apex fans since they’ve been asking for a Ranked Solos mode for quite some time now. The devs have made it clear that they don’t consider these to be “healthy” for the game, so they wouldn’t be implementing them anytime soon.
Keep in mind that these are still just rumors that have yet to be confirmed by Respawn themselves, so take them with a grain of salt. They even stood by their position on this topic on January 8, stating that Ranked Solos will not be added to the battle royale.
It’s possible that this mode is just being tested to assess data before releasing the new season. We’ll keep checking for updates, and will update you once we learn more.
