Wraith buff & new hop-ups coming in Apex Legends Season 9
The new video celebrating 100 million players may have revealed a possible Wraith buff for Season 9, while the latest leaks also point towards some new Hop-ups that players could be seeing soon.
In the celebration video posted by @PlayApex, it seems it wasn’t just teasers of the Olympus map changes and new Legend, Valk.
The video may have also teased a Wraith buff, which a lot of the community believe is well needed since her changes in the previous few patches.
Wraith buff
During the end portion of the video, a short clip is seen of Wraith entering her Phase Walk ability without much of a delay. Since taking some serious nerfs in Season 5, Season 6, and the current Season 8 patch, it seems Wraith mains finally have something to look forward to.
These past patches changed her Naruto run animation, increased the time it takes to enter her tactical ability, and also increased the size of her hit-box. This was ultimately because of her extremely high win rate compared to other Legends, so the devs saw it necessary to give her a nerf.
If this snippet in the new celebration video is true, this could see Wraith back at the top. Having the ability to instantly enter her Phase Walk is like a get-out-of-jail-free card.
New Hop-ups
Apex Legends data miner @Shrugtal also leaked a new Hop-up entering the game possibly in Season 9 for the RE-45 and the Alternator.
The leaked Hop-up is called “Armorsmith” in the game files, and could potentially level up your Evo Shields faster.
To have this kind of Hop-up on non-meta guns is a great idea as it would see both experienced and less experienced players benefit from using guns that aren’t necessarily the best of the bunch, increasing player-gun variety.
Another leaked Hop-up is the Marksman’s Tempo, which would complement the leaked Marksman category coming to Apex Legends in the future.
The new Marksman category was leaked by @Biast12 and will feature the G7-Scout, 30-30 Repeater, and the upcoming Compound Bow. These will be the guns that may potentially benefit from this new Hop-up.
The Hop-up is said to increase the rate of fire upon a successful shot, a very clever idea. With the new Compound Bow coming to the game soon, this could make for a very good Hop-up to get people using the new weapon.
New Hop-ups does mean we could potentially be seeing some current ones get put in the archive, much like we have seen for the Disrupter Rounds, Select Fire, and Double Tap.
