Are Koroks back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
As the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date draws near, players are wondering if the Koroks that were present in Breath of the Wild will return, and we’ve got the answer.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is on its way to the Nintendo Switch, and fans of the popular video game series are looking forward to everything that the Breath of the Wild follow-up has to offer.
The sequel is set to include returning features such as the weapon durability mechanic, and players are curious if Tears of the Kingdom will also mark the return of Koroks from Breath of the Wild.
Will Koroks be in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Yes, Koroks will return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and this was confirmed when one was spotted in the background in the gameplay reveal trailer on March 28, 2023.
The little creature mentions that it needs to find its friend, and this may infer that Link can choose to either help or ignore it entirely. If this is the case then players may be able to complete side quests that involve Koroks in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
What are Koroks in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Koroks are spirits that look similar to small plants and wear different leaf masks. They are watched over by the Great Deku Tree and serve as the protectors of the forest in which they live.
These little creatures have previously appeared in other Zelda titles such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
In Breath of the Wild, players could solve puzzles in order to acquire Korok Seeds which could then be used to upgrade Link’s inventory slots so that he is able to carry more weapons, bows, and shields.
It remains to be seen if this feature will also be present in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The gameplay reveal trailer also showed an item known as the Korok Frond which was then fused with Link’s bow, but it’s unclear what effect this has.
