Baldur’s Gate 3 already broke several records since its launch, and now the devs confirmed their plans for crossplay while warning players that it will take some time to arrive.

Baldur’s Gate 3 broke the mold of what gamers expected of a classic RPG experience. It has memorable characters, a thrilling story, places to discover, monsters to kill, and legendary weapons to collect. Luckily, more content awaits in future updates, including the crossplay feature.

During a recent interview with Eurogamer, Larian’s Director of Publishing Michael Douse commented on the studio’s plans for the future of the game and said that they are thinking of adding crossplay as it is already on the roadmap.

When consulted about crossplay plans, Douse answered: “It was always in the planning, but we knew it wouldn’t be for launch.” And added: “It’s in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready for, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”

This follows the official announcement of cross-saves being implemented in both PC and PS5, which set the foothold for the future of crossplay in the game.

Players got confirmation about the release of the crossplay feature, but there’s still no exact date for its arrival yet.

Playstation 5 players are already enjoying a smooth launch for the game, while Xbox Series players will need to be patient, as there were some unexpected complications related to the split-screen feature on Series S, and the devs had to postpone the launch on that platform.

When Larian Studios confirm an exact date for the release of crossplay in BG3 we will keep you posted about it. In the meantime, you can check out this useful Potions crafting guide or this incredible build for a Warbreaker Paladin multiclass.
