Baldur’s Gate 3 devs share simple trick to enhance corpse communication
Larian StudiosOne of the devs behind Baldur’s Gate 3 has shared a simple trick to raise the chances of getting useful information from dead enemies, by using the spell Speak with Dead.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has a vast setting and an overwhelming amount of narrative content. From creating your own hero to finding legendary weapons, and also speaking with the dead. For many players, Necromancy and extracting information out of a dead enemy seems to be a little tricky.
The Speak with Dead spell, which allows you to interrogate every enemy or dead sentient being you find, has a major flaw. This flaw has to do with enemies sometimes refusing to talk to the ones who killed them, which can be frustrating for players.
Luckily, one of the devs behind Baldur’s Gate 3 shared a simple trick to extract information out of even the most stubborn dearly departed foes in the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 easy trick to Speak with Dead
As some of you might have guessed already, enemies in Baldur’s Gate 3 keep their grudges even in death. Many refuse to speak to their killers even when the player casts Speak with Dead on their corpses.
Larian devs shared a simple tip that could bypass this restriction. If you disguise yourself as someone else before casting the spell, you could speak with the corpse successfully.
Spells, items, and features that alter the appearance of the characters casting Speak with Dead seem to do the trick. Try this on your next gameplay and you might find out a lot of interesting information you completely missed the first time.
The fact that the Baldur’s Gate 3 devs have included one of the key conditions in D&D lore that makes enemies talk to their killers is a testament to all the hard work and thought that led to this incredible game.
Of course, Larian had to give us a small nudge in the right direction. So far, a very small number of players have thought about the possibility of the game mechanics being so lore-accurate.
The game is filled with interesting mechanics and seems to be offering a ton of content that has yet to be discovered. One player even managed to beat the hardest boss in the game in only two turns.
