Baldur’s Gate 3: How to get Legendary Silver Sword of the Astral Plane
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has many strong weapons that you can get if you know where to look and what to do. The Silver Sword of the Astral Plane is one such weapon you can get in Act 1 or Act 3, and this guide will show you how to get it.
The Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a legendary greatsword that lets the wielder use the Soulbreaker action, and it also has special effects if that user is a Githyanki. Essentially, it’s the perfect weapon to get early on for Lae’zel or your player character if you chose the Githyanki race.
While you can wait until Act 3 to get the sword, there are ways to work around this wait and get it as early as Act 1. Here is how to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will need to use some spells and special attacks to get it from Kith’rak Voss.
When you reach the Mountain Pass in Act 1, you will run into a group of Githyanki and a Red Dragon. One of these is Kith’rak Voss, a warrior captain who is looking to overthrow Vlaakith.
To get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane from him, however, you need to make sure you don’t initiate the conversation that starts immediately when you walk toward the group. Here is what to do:
- Sneak as close as you can to Kith’rak Voss without initiating conversation.
- Cast Command Drop Weapon, Heat Metal, or attack him with a Disarming Attack.
- Finish up the battle with the other Githyanki and pick up the sword.
Kith’rak Voss has pretty high stats, and since you are likely to run into him at a lower level, we suggest you save before you try any disarming attack or spell on him as it might fail. If you use any of these, the fight that starts when you finish speaking with him (on failed saves) will start immediately without the conversation initiating first.
Besides that, it’s very important that you do this before initiating any kind of conversation or battle with Voss, otherwise he will fly away before you can attempt it.
How to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you must make sure you get the Orphic Hammer from Raphael.
‘Deal with the Devil’ is a quest you get in Act 3 where Raphael tries to strike a deal with you. You start it by talking to Mamzell Amira or Korrilla in Sharess’ Caress in Wyrm’s Crossing.
When you walk into the room to meet with Raphael, Kith’rak Voss is also there. Before you are able to speak with the Devil, he takes you aside and pleads with you to accept his deal.
You don’t have to take Raphael’s deal to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane from Kith’rak Voss, however. You have four options:
- Take Raphael’s deal and get the Orphic Hammer.
- Don’t take Raphael’s deal but find a way to break into the House of Hope to obtain the Orphic Hammer.
- Don’t take Raphael’s deal and pass a difficult check (DC 30) to lie to Voss and tell him you will get the Orphic Hammer.
- Kill Kith’rak Voss and loot the sword from his body.
Any of these options will cause Voss to give you the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 3.
