Baldur’s Gate 3 player creates creepy army of spiders party: ‘It’s fuel for nightmares’

Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players a lot of freedom to play the way they want, and this often ends up showing the weirdest of outcomes. However, when the community thought it had seen everything, someone went and created the creepiest party ever.

For those players that haven’t gone through the challenging Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign, beware of spoilers ahead. But for those who have seen the many horrors that lurk in the darkest corners of The Sword Coast, here’s a thought: what would you do if you found a swarm of spiders approaching you in the game?

Would you use Gale’s many powerful Fire-type spells to scorch them out of existence? Or would you cast Spirit Guardians with Shadowheart, and dive into the swarm to maul them all? No matter what your class is, or which Origin Character you use, spiders are always dangerous enemies in the game.

Well, some BG3 players are pretty creative and prefer a much more pragmatic approach. You know what they say: If you cannot defeat them, join them.

Reddit user ‘EduEpsilon’ posted its approach on Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit; “How many spiders could you have in your party?” The community watched in horror as this BG3 player’s party performed a horrific arachnid parade, and hurried to blast them away with their comments.

“User ‘EvolvedCactus19’ found the OP’s party composition extremely funny and said: “Fear not citizens, we are here to rescue you in a terrifying way.” Another user also added: “I see you decided to wake up and create nightmare fuel.”

Funnily enough, the game has an “arachnophobia safe button” you can activate, and a user also commented on this: “I have arachnophobia but I did the dumb and spoke to the spiders under the goblin camp anyway. The first couple lines of dialogue had me wanting to run away screaming, but I’m glad I stuck it out!”

Baldur’s Gate 3 has given players the liberty to choose the way they want to play, with a myriad of possible choices and their respective consequences. But the community has one more time showcased that with this game, you should expect the unexpected.

Baldur's Gate 3 Lae'zel on a building
Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players a lot of freedom in every choice and action they make.

As another player mentioned: “The beauty of BG3 is the free will. The people complaining about murdering children? You chose that. The people complaining about squid sex? That’s on you.”

They also added afterward: “Somewhere in that mess, OP decided the world needs more spiders. At this point, there’s nothing left to do but quietly agree that OP is a sociopath.”

No matter how skittery EduEpsilon’s thoughts were when they decided to create this arachnid army, remember you can also play as a Necromancer in BG3. Or, if you prefer a more simple but effective approach, the Arcane Archer build might be what you are looking for.
