Baldur’s Gate 3 player shares “hilarious” way to stop Gale overshadowing you
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players find that Gale may overshadow you if you decide to play as a wizard, but someone has found a workaround to the issue which may also be cause for some laughs.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin characters tend to have their backstories tied very closely to their Class, and in some cases, their Race. Even though the game gives you the opportunity to change Classes midway through a playthrough, it may not be the best choice for everyone in the party.
Gale is one such character. His story doesn’t actually make much sense if he isn’t a wizard, which puts some players in an awkward position. If you want to play as a wizard yourself, you may find that your story and character are overshadowed by Gale.
This means that from the get-go your character is either not very useful, or you’ll find yourself not adding Gale to your party at all. This becomes problematic in story sequences where he needs to be present.
However, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player has found a solution to this problem. “Turn Gale into a Wild Magic Barbarian,” they said in a post on Reddit. “All of his dialogue becomes f***g hilarious because he becomes this deranged lunatic who thinks he is a wizard because of the random magic stuff that happens to him.”
Fans took to the comments, enjoying the idea of Gale as a raging Barbarian. “Bonus: you get to hear his barbarian scream. He sounds like he found out about an overdue library book,” a player added.
While Baldur’s Gate 3 may restrict the way you can play with some Origin characters, players are always coming up with interesting ways to work around it. That’s what players have enjoyed, so far – despite the restrictions in storytelling that do exist, the game gives you the opportunity to be creative with them.
