Baldur’s Gate 3 player stunned after “petty” mistake cost them entire party before final battle
Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player was quite upset when they found out that their allies abandoned them at the very end of the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a massive success and has constantly maintained a high player count since its release. Thanks to its immersive turn-based combat and intricate storyline, even new players are being attracted to the D&D franchise.
BG3 is all about important choices and with dice deciding every major outcome in the game, players are in for a gamble with their dialogue picks. However, it did not work out well for one player as their allies abandoned them right before the end of the game.
Reddit user ‘Saquon’ posted about this in the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit as they said: “I accidentally made my allies abandon me at the very end.” The OP clarified that when they were gathering their allies in the end, they saw a sword on the trader’s table and “gave it a yoink.”
However, at that very moment, all their allies disappeared, and the only one left was Flaming Fist Marcus who attacked them on sight. “When I got to the dragon fight I suddenly notice that there’s no way to call forth my allies. They actually abandoned me and the fate of The Realms over one little sword. After all, we’d been through,” added the OP.
Even though the OP thought that it was “kind of petty,” others were sarcastically calling them a “loot goblin” in Baldur’s Gate 3. “The end of the world is near, but damn don’t steal that thing, you God-killing criminal,” joked another player.
“Not petty but seriously why would you try to even loot there? It’s the end of the game, you most probably have the best weapon in the game at that point. Kind of a mistake on your part to even think about stealing” advised another player.
“Lol seems petty for them to abandon you over a sword at that point. But it also seems kinda petty for you to be yoinking a sword at that point,” added another player as well. However, many considered this full aggro to be a “bug” and hoped that it would be patched soon in BG3.
