Larian Studios built a huge world in Baldur’s Gate 3, filled with different options for players to role-play while exploring Faerun. However, there are some choices that fans can’t stand and even admit to judging everyone who does.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has a complex world where players can choose different solutions for every quest. Their answer will change the companions’ approval rate and, of course, the story’s outcome. While these options reflect the main character’s moral alignment, there are some dialogues that fans just straight out refuse to use.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 community rallied on Reddit to share which choices they couldn’t accept and couldn’t even imagine using in any playthrough.

One of the most popular answers described how they wouldn’t kill the owlbear cub after realizing it could be part of the player’s camp. “I feel like a terrible person for cutting his fictional life short on my first playthrough. If you kill the owlbear cub willingly then just consider yourself a monster,” said user ‘EnceladusKnight.’

Players unanimously agree that they won’t accept any options that hurt pet companions.

Pets in Baldur’s Gate 3 are taken in high regard in the community, and most players agree that ignoring or hurting Scratch in any way wasn’t acceptable, even for the most chaotic Durge. Fans also find “inexcusable” the option of returning him to his former mistress, arguably the most hated NPC in Faerun, since she clearly mistreats him.

“I intend for my second playthrough fully embrace Durge, picking every worse possible option. This is the only one I don’t think I can do. Doesn’t help that I work in an animal shelter tbh, I can’t picture myself doing it, even as role-play,” commented Redditor ‘Firaxyiam’ regarding giving back Scratch.

Others said to judge every player that lets Astarion ascend for additional combat powers, which might be useful for difficult fights, but at the cost of the lives of 7,000 people. Fans pointed out that this option can only be tolerated by characters in evil playthroughs, but even then, Astarion turns evil very quickly and takes this opportunity to treat everybody like trash.

Other popular opinions from Baldur’s Gate 3 fans were related to different styles of gameplay, where they admit to severely judging everyone who doesn’t embrace the role-play aspect of the game. “My husband and I played with his friends and one friend was leading us around using some strategy guide. It was entirely miserable,” explained user ‘EnceladusKight.’

In the same line, a fan highlighted that ignoring every book that can be looted in Baldur’s Gate 3 was also reprehensible since some of them are related to quests and unlock secret powers.

Larian Studios hid a plethora of options in its latest RPG, but even if jokingly, players can’t stop thinking that some options are too cruel to even consider trying out.

While fans keep discussing what are the options they can’t stop themselves from judging in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can check why players are enchanted by Lae’zel’s unreadable attitude, or what were players’ advice for a fan that was ghosted by every companion in Faerun.
