Baldur’s Gate 3 players confess their worst “sins” during playthroughs
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 gives players free rein to decide how their adventure will pan out with some crucial choices. However, some fans admitted having done some things they aren’t really proud of just for the sake of role-play.
Baldur’s Gate 3 devs stated that it has up to 17,000 ending variations that can be triggered by even the most subtle decision made while traveling through Faerun. Larian Studios’ RPG lets players choose how to react to different situations, and some users admit that they’ve picked some curious paths for some of the most difficult choices.
In a Reddit post that asked players for their “Baldur’s Gate3 sins,” fans explained what controversial decisions they’ve made that aren’t all that proud to admit. And while the OP said that reasons like “I save -scum like a madman” weren’t valid as a confession, there were some unexpected “sins” that players admitted having done in their playthroughs.
“I have stripped every character of their clothes just so I could see what they’re like nude,” admitted user ‘NotYourDay123.’ They weren’t alone, since others chimed in and said that they’d made their camp into a “nudist colony,” and others confessed they were surprised to see the companions so “jacked up.”
Another popular “sin” was killing all characters in Créche Y’llek during Act 2, which most players said they’d done to earn XP. “Once Lae’zel realizes that Vlaakith wants her dead, then it makes complete sense to wipe out the entire crèche. She wouldn’t want to leave a group of Githyanki based on the material plane that could easily go after her,” justified user ‘jugularvoider.’
Other Baldur’s Gate 3 players admitted they’ve always made the same mistakes to see companions’ reactions, such as dropping Lathander’s monastery while Astarion is still inside. “The only disapproval I will actively accept,” described Redditor ‘Bahhblacksheep.’
Some confessions are against popular trends, like the workaround to recruit Minthara and the trick to avoid Alfira’s murder during a Durge playthrough. Even if most players seemed to have worked hard to avoid these situations, others couldn’t be bothered with them.
“I’ve never said two words to Minthara. My first run was a hyperrealistic roleplay of a lawful good Paladin of the Ancients and I didnt do any save scumming no matter what. The entire goblin camp was aggroed. I never spoke to Razglin or Minthara. I know nothing about the Drow that everyone loves,” admitted user ‘Dawn_Lily.’
