Baldur’s Gate 3 players debate which character is the most hated in Faerun
Larian StudiosThere are many Baldur’s Gate 3 characters that players love to hate, but there are some that fans can’t even stand to encounter while traveling through Faerun. Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community had to say about them.
Baldur’s Gate 3 features some of the most despicable characters that players will have to cross paths with and even help while trying to get rid of the Mind Flyers’ tadpole. Aside from the obvious villains, these Faerun habitants seem to have woken fans’ worst instincts after getting to know them.
In a Reddit post called “What character do you HATE the most?” Baldur’s Gate 3 players shared what was the worst NPC they’ve met and why they think Faerun doesn’t really benefit from them wandering around.
“For me, it’s Auntie Ethel. Very well-written completely loathsome manipulative evil abusive monster, god I loathe her. I can’t find strong enough words for how much of a monster she is and how much hatred I feel for her,” stated Redditor ‘Lessenizer,’ who created the thread.
A group of Redditors agreed with this perspective and added that not only the main character doesn’t get anything from making a pact with her, but she also reappears during Act 3 “as horrible as ever.”
Not very surprisingly, other Baldur’s Gate 3 fans said to hate Wulbren, a deep gnome who leads the Ironhand Gnomes and can be first encountered locked in the Moonrise Towers prison. “I raided the Warden’s office to give him his precious hammer, and the little sh*t was still a d*ck afterward. Shoulda let the guards kill him, smh,” commented Redditor ‘WinterChalice.’
However, most players pointed out that the character they most hated was somebody with a minuscule role in the game, but that gets immediately under every player’s skin. Her name is Mar’hayah, the original handler of Scratch, the beloved dog that can be found during Act 1.
“I roleplay a generally pleasant bard, but I’ve never hit a dialogue option as fast as “I’ll break every bone in your body before I let you touch him,” admitted user ‘UsernamesAre4Nerds.’
