Baldur’s Gate 3 players are convinced that Gale’s “god ending” is not a good thing, even though many consider it to be the best scenario for the character.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is famous for its intricate storyline and commendable character design, set in a massive world filled with secrets. Its intriguing turn-based combat and D&D-based gameplay proved to be some of the biggest contributors to its massive success.

BG3 has a variety of endings for each playthrough that are unlocked depending on your choices and gameplay, where some are considered to be good and others bad. Gale, one of the most famous companions, can have different outcomes to his fate as well, depending upon your choices.

Even though many consider his “god ending” to be a good ending, Reddit user ‘Binx_Thackery’ suggested that it is not the case. They claimed: “I had a sudden epiphany as to why the god ending for Gale is actually bad for him” in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The OP went ahead and clarified their opinion as they said: “If he becomes a god at the end though, not only does he just fall into the status quo, but he becomes one of (if not the) most hands-off gods there are.” They even claimed that “his godhood turns him into an egotistical hypocrite.”

As mentioned earlier, many consider this to be Gale’s best ending as he not only gets high status but also is blessed with powerful spells by challenging Mystra. However, many felt that this ending could be made “worse” by accepting Raphael’s deal and then Gale failing to beat Mystra, resulting in eternal torment.

One player had a theory behind Gale’s selfishness, as they said: “When Gale ascended, he became one of his qualities. Since ambition and selfishness were the driving factors for his ascension, he became the personification of those,” suggesting gods in BG3 are the personification of their qualities.
