Baldur’s Gate 3 players explain why only playing once is a huge mistake

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have spoken about their multiple playthroughs, but now they have explained why they feel it’s necessary to play more than once.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the kind of game you can lose hours to without noticing. Players have been playing the game over and over again to try and find all the secrets, but also to experience all the choices they didn’t make in their previous playthroughs.

In fact, fans are sure that you must play the game more than once to get the full experience. Simply looking at the characters you can choose to play will tell you that – choosing between a custom, Dark Urge, or Origin character will bring an entirely new experience each time.

Redditor ‘TheReal8symbols’ spoke to this sentiment: “Give [your] character a personality and goals outside the main story and act accordingly,” they said. “Don’t worry about making the ‘best’ decisions. Make a Bard with low charisma, or a fighter with high wisdom (maybe not for honor mode…). You’ll get a bespoke story that’s only yours, and a deeper experience.”

Fans agreed with this method in the comments. Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you the luxury (or in some cases, curse) of many, many choices – which means that you will miss out on content if you don’t load a new save to make a different decision.

“This is actually what’s keeping me trucking through Act 3, after restarting a dozen different times in Act 1. At this point in the game, I have made so many choices that I couldn’t replicate my current story if I quit and tried again,” another player commented.

Even if you don’t have the same time as others to put into Baldur’s Gate 3, the game will always be there for a second playthrough. While it’s looking like it will remain popular for a long time still, it will always be there for you to open up again and experience the story in a whole new way.
