Baldur’s Gate 3 players expose worst advice given to new players
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans dared each other to write some of the most useless things they’ve done in the form of “awful advice.” Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community came up with.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have learned quite a few lessons while exploring Faerun to put a stop to the Mind Flayers’ invasion. There are a ton of players who have gone through multiple playthroughs, and they all agree that there are some fundamentals of the adventure they wish they had known sooner.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 community shared these tips in the form of “awful advice,” where they wrote everything that didn’t work in Faerun, despite sounding great in theory.
Redditor ‘S0ulbrother’ started by commenting how great was to add a new multi-class at every level. While beginners may expect this to make characters well-rounded, splitting classes in Baldur’s Gate 3 hinders their leveling rate.
“The weird mummy guy at camp seems nice, but is actually a lich who will make your life way worse if you talk to him- You can’t prevent him from being at camp, but DO NOT talk to him, never,” said ‘No-Philosophy2381’ while describing Withers, a key characters that lets players respec characters and revive companions.
Others misquoted one of the most common mistakes in Baldur’s Gate 3 and suggested to new players to not use long rests. “You’ll screw up those time-sensitive events, and if you rest too much, you will turn into a Mind Flayer,” user ‘deercoast’ commented.
“You will need lots of tools throughout the game, so make sure you always have some rope, pliers, hammer, chisel, etc on your main character at all times. You will also need more bedrolls as your party expands,” described ‘plugubius,’ who actually described elements that players commonly hoard but are entirely useless if not sold for gold.
Finally, one of the most popular comments was regarding the “Guidance” skill, a powerful ability that gives players an advantage in some of the most important dialogue interactions. “Guidance isn’t a big deal since it’s not combat-related. Pick true strike, guaranteed advantage on next attack,” described ‘Blahklavah65.’
And that’s some of the worst tips Baldur’s Gate 3 wished they’d known before their adventure through Faerun.
