Baldur’s Gate 3 players furious as Patch 6 bugs make game ‘unplayable’

After the release of the long-awaited Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 6, players have unfortunately been running into tons of bugs that are breaking the game. From dialogue cutting off early to not being able to recruit the Owlbear Cub, fans are struggling. 

Patch 6 of Baldur’s Gate 3 brought a lot of new animations, dialogue options, and mechanics to the game. Unfortunately, it has also brought on a slew of bugs that are making the game unplayable for many. 

In the days since it went live on February 16, fans have taken to multiple social media channels to try and communicate the problems they are running into with Larian Studios. 

“I don’t want to flame Larian too hard but I think we should call them out on mistakes and honestly Patch 6 is the worst it’s ever been. I’m literally stuck and can’t play until it’s fixed,” ‘BleZZt’ shared in a post on Reddit. 

While a Hotfix was released this week to address issues with traders bugging out, there has been no fix for the other problems players are experiencing. Larian has said that they are working on noted issues, but nothing more has been communicated so far. 

Players have shared a list of known bugs in normal and Honour Mode playthroughs as a means to warn others what they can expect when they log back in. Some have even said that they are concerned by the quality assurance process that these patches go through.

“I really need people to stop saying they don’t want to blame Larian. They released a patch that could only have passed QA if there was no QA. It’s unacceptable, and it’s 100% their fault,” a player commented. 

The outcry is also happening this time because the bugs seem to be bigger than usual. As one player explained, Minsc randomly appeared in their camp before he had actually been recruited. 

“After a Long Rest in Act 3 I randomly entered combat with Minsc in camp. As soon as I attacked him it turned every other character in camp aggressive. I HAVEN’T EVEN RECRUITED MINSC YET,” they said. 

While we are not sure when fixes for these issues will come, we will keep you updated with any future patches that look to resolve them.
