Shar’s Gauntlet in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive part of Act 2 filled with tons of important information for the rest of the game. It is also where you can find Yurgir the Orthon, and a player has discovered an interesting interaction in his lair.

Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 mainly deals with you trying to lift the Shadow Curse and get yourself to Moonrise Towers, with the Gauntlet of Shar being a pinnacle area for the progression of these quests.

Besides deciding Shadowheart’s fate, you will have to deal with Yurgir the Orthon – a demon that Raphael tasks you with killing. The fight itself is one of the most difficult in the game, but his lair also offers some interesting interactions.

The most well-known one is that you can find the body of a spider that has been charmed and lick it to find more information about it, much to the dismay of your party members.

A new interaction, as one player discovered, is that you can cast Speak with Dead on Yurgir’s bed and have a conversation with it. It is important to note that Yurgir’s ‘bed’ is actually a stack of corpses, which is what makes this possible.

In a post on Reddit titled “TIL you can cast Speak with Dead on Orthon’s bed,” Baldur’s Gate 3 players were amused – and a little grossed out – by this find.

“This game is limitless. I saw hundreds of things I have never seen and I feel like it won’t end,” one player commented. Another said, “Well. That’s nightmare fuel.”

The discussion turned to players asking and sharing the other bodies that you can cast Speak with Dead on, which spoke to the power the spell has in giving the player more context to the story and area around them.

Players also pointed out that in this case of use, the spell should be called “Speak with Bed.”
