Baldur’s Gate 3 players highlight “tedious” side quest you should just skip
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is packed with intriguing side quests that present gripping scenarios and offer satisfying rewards. However, many players seem to agree that one BG3 side quest simply isn’t worth the effort.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive RPG filled to the brim with sights to see, companions to romance, animals to speak with, and more. A full playthrough of the game can easily reach triple-digit hours, even if you don’t chase after 100% completion. This is due to BG3’s expansive main questline and the sheer amount of side adventures players can take on.
Among Baldur’s Gate 3’s many side quests is the tale of Dribbles The Clown. The quest is accessible during Act 3 and can be triggered by visiting the Circus of The Last Days. Just head to Dribble’s clown show which quickly goes south but kicks off a side quest named ‘Find Dribbles the Clown.’
The quest itself turns out to be a gruesome scavenger hunt as players literally piece together the whereabouts of the deceased clown. The task involves searching for his severed body parts in hidden locations before taking them back to Lucretious.
The reason why fans advise against taking on the quest in the first place has to do with how tedious and frustrating it is. Players voiced their annoyance under a popular Reddit post from ‘Reaper0444.’
Users commented on just how tricky it is to find all of the body parts with one player saying, “I’m on my 3rd runthrough and still haven’t figured out where all his damn parts are.” They weren’t alone in feeling this way as many players agreed.
One remark appeared to sum up how trivial the quest felt, “Gave up on that quest as an unnecessary fetch quest. BG3 is a theme park and I’d rather spend my time on a roller coaster than ‘it’s a small world.'”
Another major reason behind fans’ disapproval of the quest has to do with the final reward. After returning what’s left of Dribbles, players receive Spellmight Gloves which provide a -5 penalty to spell attack rolls to deal an additional 1d8 damage. Many players felt that the reward wasn’t worth the effort with one user offering up an alternate solution, “Just pickpocket the quest giver.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 has no shortage of fascinating quests with great rewards, and by the looks of it, piecing together Dribbles isn’t one of them.
