Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “incredible” new Durge detail
Larian StudiosLarian Studios have delighted players with most of the features introduced in Patch 5, and players have just found out a precious new detail that changes one of the Durge canon storylines. Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community has been talking about.
Baldur’s Gate 3 introduced with Patch 5 almost 3589 new lines of dialogue, new game difficulty settings, and a couple of in-game details that delighted every player. While most fans are spending time with their favorite companions in the new epilogues, some of those who are currently playing as the “Dark Urge” (or Durge) have also noticed a most welcomed surprise.
During a Durge run in Larian Studios’ RPG, players will face the impulse to kill Alfira, a sweet bard you encounter during Act One at the Druid Grove. While currently there’s no way of not murdering her in-game, fans who have grown fond of her shared a popular exploit to trick the game and let her live.
After Patch 5, Durge players who used this exploit receive a letter from Alfira, thanking them for not killing her. “I heard what you are, and what you’ve overcome. I saw murder in your eyes when you looked at me- but you stayed your hand, didn’t you?,” says a part of the letter sent by the tiefling bard.
The full letter was posted in Baldur’s Gate 3 official subreddit in a post called “Knocking out A… as a Dark Urge is acknowledged by the game!” Players quickly started praising this letter, which recognizes the extent fans went through not to kill the beloved character.
“The fact that they saw people using an exploit en masse to save a beloved NPC and instead of patching it out they added in a canon recognition of the choice to spare her is why I love Larian,” pointed out Redditor ‘literallybyronic.’
“I see it as Larian’s way of thanking us for loving their game,” commented Redditor ‘Supermuch2000,’ who also added how grateful they were for the new epilogues’ in Patch 5. “This whole patch is one giant fan service, and it’s incredible,” noted Reddit user ‘Va_Dinky.’
And that’s everything about players discovering Alfira’s new reaction for players who resist murdering her as the Dark Urge.
