Baldur’s Gate 3 players reveal key reason to hoard “useless” Dragon Arrows
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are tired of carrying around useless items, but they’ve come to realize that there’s one that could greatly help them during the fight against the Netherbrain.
Most Baldur’s Gate 3 players can admit to having hoarded items that were seemingly useful, such as bundles of rope or pliers. This also applies to the “Arrow of Dragon Slaying,” a type of arrow that begins to spawn during the early game and that fans have the sense to save until they meet a dragon.
However, most players get frustrated after realizing that the first dragon that they meet, Ansur, is actually classified as “undead”. After sharing their complaints in Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, they’ve realized that there’s an unexpected reason why stocking up on these “Dragon Arrows” is useful after all. “Some of y’all only ever sent Gale up the brainstem and it shows,” hinted a user.
Baldur’s Gate 3 experienced players revealed that these arrows are great for combating the Dominated Red Dragon, a creature that is controlled by the Netherbrain during the final fight.
They’ve also pointed out a little detail about using these: they will only work if players manage to hit the target, which is something that not all have been successful at. “My brother had been saving 1 of these since Act 1. Finally in Act 3 gets to use it. Proceeds to miss,” admitted a fan.
“Undead Arrows may be cheaper, but the opportunity costs of using them on Ansur rather than Dragon Arrows makes them a worse choice. There are lots of Undead in the game but very few dragons. Better to use the Dragon Arrows in a fight they are relevant for than a slightly cheaper alternative that is applicable in far more fights,” explained a player.
And that’s everything on why players advise to actually stock up on “Dragon Arrows”. If you want to know more about Larian Studios’ RPG, check why players feel that the “Jack-of-all-Trades” trophy isn’t worth it, and how to get Alfira’s hidden special rewards.
