There’s always something new to be discovered in Baldur’s Gate 3 and these players learned the hard way that there’s a hidden battle that can wipe out even the strongest character in the early game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been out for some time now, but players keep finding crazy scenarios that Larian Studios carefully stashed in each act. While most think that there’s nothing new to discover during Act 1, some users just acknowledged that there’s a small creature hidden in a swamp that’s better to avoid if you wish to continue your game.

In a Reddit post called “This thing…it scares me,” fans gathered to talk about how dangerous it is to anger the Addled Frog. This cute frog can be found in the Sunlit Wetlands (X:-22, Y:309), when trying to find the Hag’s hideout, and will immediately threaten anyone that comes close to them.

Of course, most players don’t take the Addled Frog seriously, since it’s tiny and completely alone. But those who have pushed their luck, have discovered that its skills won’t give any character a chance to survive.

“It was during my first playthrough & I didn’t expect the frog would try to fight me just because I was rude. Then I thought the frog was stupid being so small & attacking our rather able group. Welp, I was the stupid one & TPK’d,” commented a user.

The Addled Frog can evade most attacks, and if that’s not enough, it can also reflect spells to its enemies. But the main challenge is surviving its Venomous Discharge, which will damage Poison all members of the party.

“I accidentally attacked the frog and immediately regretted it. Imagine a DLC where the Monty Python Rabbit and frog teamed up. The whole world would fall and the Mind Flayers would abandon their plans,” read another comment.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players pointed out that there’s an easy way to avoid this fight, which is avoiding the frog until the Hag’s storyline is solved. “If you kill Ethen and then cast “Speak with Animals” with the frog, it will be so happy that it will lead you to a treasure cache,” described a fan.

And that’s why the Addled Frog in Act 1 is a fight you should avoid in Baldur’s Gate 3 early game.
