Baldur’s Gate 3 players share hardest boss to beat in Honor Mode
Larian StudiosMany Baldur’s Gate 3 players going through Honour Mode have seen their demise at the hands of this difficult opponent. Now, the community has shared some tips on how to overcome this obstacle.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken RPG strategy to a whole new level with its unique D&D-based mechanics, cool weapons, and quite a lot of interesting choices to make. The abundance of challenging opponents is one of the best things the game has, and for a player trying the incredibly harsh Honour Mode, planning good strategies is key to survival.
But some players have found out that certain late-game boss is nearly impossible to beat in Honour Mode. And now, many players have gathered to share their mishaps during encounters with one of the big bad evils of the game: Orin the Red.
This was posted by Reddit user ‘SuperBestPlayerzZ,’ who shared a screen of their utter defeat by the Acolyte of Baal herself.
The OP said: “Lost Honour Run, I hate Orin.” And the Baldur’s Gate 3 community quickly shared their experiences fighting against one of the toughest bosses in the entire game.
One of the players commenting on the post had this to say about the Acolyte of Baal: “Orin is the most bullsh*t overpowered boss in Honour mode. She instant kills rather than downing you, she has 300 attacks per turn and she does 10-30 damage per attack.”
Meanwhile, another player explains why Orin is troublesome in Honour Mode: “You must kill someone this turn, and btw everyone has sanctuary and Orin has 12x untouchable.”
And then, offered some advice on how to beat this boss: “The trick IMO is to hit someone with hold person early on and save them for later. You can also bring a djinni along to spam Thunderwave to knock all the hovering sanctuary dudes over the cliff. Thunderwave is AOE and therefore bypasses sanctuary.”
Meanwhile, user ‘youshouldbeelsweyr’ also shared this useful advice to bypass Orin’s defenses: “Get rid of unstoppable and she is easy pickings. She was trivial at best because we really had to coordinate attacks in the correct order. Gale hastened and cast double magic missiles for the unstoppable charges then the GWM barbarian go brrr while being kept alive by my cleric.”
So there you have it, if you are going to fight Orin in Honour Mode, you better go prepared with some real deal CC abilities and spells that bypass Sanctuary.
