An NPC in Baldur’s Gate 3 ended up shoving their girlfriend off a ledge in a bizarre incident, leaving the entire community confused.

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers multiple endings, and several in-game events can differ based on your decisions. The main plot remains mostly the same, but the fates of several characters are decided by you, the player. Some of these events and endings can be quite surprising and unexpected.

This is what happened to a Redditor named ‘Nerdy-Babygirl’ and they shared it with the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit. In their game, Dame Aylin killed off her girlfriend, Isobel, in the most unexpected way.

You first meet Isobel during the second Act of Baldur’s Gate 3 at the Last Light Inn. She is a Cleric of Selune who has been guarding the inn from the Shadow Curse. When you speak with her, she gets attacked by Ketheric Thorm‘s minions, and you have to fight to save her.

If you fail to do so, she will be in a mind-controlled state and fight on Ketheric’s side when you eventually face him. During this fight, the OP tried to keep Isobel alive by not engaging her at all. However, all that changed when Dame Aylin, her lover, shoved her into a chasm.

Several users explained that it’s difficult to save her during this fight, and even if you do, it’s pointless. As one comment by another Baldur’s Gate 3 player elaborates: “Even if you had successfully spared her during the entire fight; as soon as Ketheric dies, Isobel will automatically die as well.”

That doesn’t explain the bizarre behavior from Aylin, however, and users flooded the thread with hilarious comments about it. One comment read, “So in a way, Aylin was just putting her gf out of her misery.” The most likely explanation is that Aylin’s AI just assumed Isobel was an enemy NPC. Funnily enough, the OP stated that they were going to kill off Isobel anyway, by giving her away to Lorroakan.
