Baldur’s Gate 3 players want Pokemon feature for Githyanki egg
Larian StudiosPlayers are still enjoying the many things that Baldur’s Gate 3 has in store for them, including secrets, side quests, and more. Even some pop-culture references can be found hidden as easter eggs, and some of them are being proposed by the community, like this Pokemon feature.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has become quite the cult game, even among players who don’t particularly enjoy turn-based combat RPGs, and it has harvested praises and awards all across the globe. Some players have found strange parallelisms between Larian Studio’s take on D&D lore, even some related to another popular franchise.
That’s why, when a member of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit community compared the Githyanki Egg gimmick with the popular Pokemon franchise, the fans quickly started to gather around and ask for it to be included in the game.
Players are always fond of game tweaking, and they even use mods that alter the gameplay completely, and when this post was dropped in the community Reddit, some of the players praised the OP’s idea and thought: “Why not make it happen?”
This was posted by Reddit user ‘SafijivaLoreMaster’ with the statement: “Imagine this popping up after walking with the Githyanki egg.” The Baldur’s Gate 3 players immediately responded by saying that this could be a great idea to add in future patches. One of them said: “Please be shiny.” While another one jested: “Not shiny. Into the incinerator, she goes!”
Meanwhile, others believe that the fate of the poor Githyanki youngling was sealed from the start since a Party who has Minthara in it is bound to cause trouble for the poor fresh-spawn: “Raised by a drow or raised by a gith… just throw me into nature, the owlbears are probably better parents.”
However, raising the Githyanki egg is not possible gameplay-wise. You either keep it or give it to Lae’zel for safeguarding. Some after-credit scenes seem to point out that the latter should be the best option but could block some of the content or Side Quests triggered by stealing the egg from the clutch.
As one of the players expressed: “I literally took it all the way to the end of the game in Lae’zel’s inventory and there was actually a moment in the epilogue where she mentioned the egg hatched! I was so pleased to see such a detail being caught and mentioned in the end!”
So there you have it, this funny Pokemon reference shared by a Baldur’s Gate 3 player has brought together the best of two worlds.
And speaking about eggs, here’s all the deal about the Githyanki Egg so you can try for yourself the consequences of taking it from the Creche. And here’s the best build for Lae’zel to make her survive until the end, in case you are playing Honour Mode.
