Baldur’s Gate 3 players wonder why devs ignore this companion in every update

Most Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have praised Patch 6 for every new bit added to companions, but they’ve also noticed that there’s someone who seems to have been “completely forgotten” by Larian Studios.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has welcomed Patch 6, an update that has thrilled players with plenty of fan service content and some great improvements to gameplay mechanics. But fans have noticed that while most companions have received something new during the latest patches, there’s one that has been almost forgotten.

While Larian Studios constant overlook of everything related to Wyll has become a meme, players are wondering why he hasn’t gotten even the slightest update to its dialogue or gameplay.

“It was especially disappointing because they did introduce the option for Lae’zel to make her own decision in this patch, so companion decisions are clearly something that was on their mind,” pointed out user ‘Cestquilepatron.’

Some theorized that devs weren’t able to get the hang of Wyll’s narrative, since they’ve completely overhauled his personality during Early Access. “In EA he was far more cocky, less of a traditional good guy. He seemed to not regret his pact as much, he hated goblins, was arrogant, and more. He was very interesting, and I’m sure they had plans and a story for THAT wyll…,” said Redditor ‘Laranthiel.’

Most fans who weren’t able to try out Baldur’s Gate 3 during pre-launch are intrigued by Wyll’s old personality, and some even spotted a few dialogue lines that could have belonged to the original character. But without any updates from him, users admit finding the warlock “quite boring.”

“The only thing I want is for Larian to give Wyll the ability to make his own choice during a certain quest,” commented user ‘neopedro121,’ “Something like, ‘Dude, this is one of the most important decisions of your entire existence, make a choice, don’t leave it up to me!’.”

Others even compared him with Gale, one of the most popular characters, and found it ridiculous that the wizard has up to 30 different greetings for players, while Wyll has only one. A Baldur’s Gate 3 player perfectly summarize what players thought about this: “Like bro only has one dialogue greeting, let my boy say something besides ‘well met’, I’M BEGGING.”

And that’s why Baldur’s Gate 3 players think that Larian Studios has simply forgotten about Wyll as a companion. If you want to know more about Larian Studios’ RPG, you can check out this trick to easily deal with Steel Watchers and what hidden Shar Temple easter egg players have found during Act 1.
