Should you give the Artefact to Kith’rak Voss in BG3?

It doesn’t matter if you give away the Artefact to Kith’rak Voss or any other NPC in Baldur’s Gate 3, as it will always make its way back to you.

If you give it to one of the Kith’raks, Lae’zel will approve of the decision, but the others will disapprove. This bothers Shadowheart because she sees it as a betrayal of trust. After all, she had been charged with securing the Artefact in Shar’s name. Meanwhile, Astarion dislikes giving away power that is rightfully yours.

To avoid this resentment, it’s best to move most of your party members to camp aside from Lae’zel as she’s the only one who approves of it. If Lae’zel isn’t in your party, it’s best to keep interrupting her or use persuasion and intimidation to leave the area unharmed.

The Artefact is also the only thing preventing you and your companions from turning into Mind Flayers. You learn this as you make your way to the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3. The mysterious dream visitor who resides in the Astral Prism inside the Artefact warns you against giving it away. They are also the one shielding you from the gaze of the Absolute.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has many situations where all choices eventually lead to the same outcome, but the means differ. This is one of those moments, and as such, you can make any decision here without affecting the main plot.
