Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find Gale’s Cat Tara

Baldur’s Gate 3 is loaded with side quests and tasks that hand out exciting rewards. One such task is finding and interacting with Gale’s Cat Tara, and here’s her location in the three acts of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was easily one of the most expansive and popular games of 2023, and even after several months of release, you can stumble upon new open-world secrets, achievements, weapons, quests, and more.

Baldur’s Gate 3: All Tara locations

Act 1

If you choose Gale as an Origin character in Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 1 and start playing the game as him, you’ll quickly find Tara sitting in your camp upon the first Long Rest. She will provide Gale with the first magic item he has to consume when he awakes, and she’ll be available at all times.

Act 2

Gale’s Cat Tara cannot be found during Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 because she’s taking a new route to reach Baldur’s Gate. If a player manages to find her during the second act, we’ll make sure to update this space.

Act 3

If you’re playing as an Origin character, you’ll get to meet Gale’s Cat Tara after reaching the first part of Act 3, where she’s nesting on the rooftops of the Open Hand Temple (X:-56, Y: -5). After talking to her, you’ll get the Ring of Blink, and you’ll also find some letters in her nest from the “Find The Missing Letters” quest.

You’ll be able to find her on different rooftops of Baldur’s Gate, such as on the roof of the Devil’s Fee (X:-29, Y: 6), where she’ll give you the Hat of the Sharp Caster, and on the roof of Highberry’s Home (X:1 Y: -36), where she’ll get you the Slinging Shoes.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to trade with Tara

The only way you can trade with Tara in Baldur’s Gate 3 is by giving her Fish or magical items in exchange for her rewards.

To do so, players will need to have Fish in their inventories and ask Tara to barter with them. If the item is good enough for Tara, she’ll give you a magical item as a reward.
