Basket Full of Equipment
This is a clothing and accessories mod for BG3 that adds over 800 pieces of equipment for your characters. This includes armor, boots, gloves, helmets, cloaks, and belts. You can see the clothing items from this mod on many YouTube gameplay videos. Basket Full of Equipment isn’t limited to just clothing, however.
It also adds new spells, weapons, and even custom dyes. One of the spells, called False Education, allows you to experience different dialogue choices by adding a different class tag to your character. The other spells are for quality-of-life adjustments, such as for cleaning the dirt and blood from your characters.
One thing to note is that the clothing items were made with the “humanlike” races in mind — Humans, Elves, Drow, and Tieflings. Half-Orcs and any character with a Strong Body Type won’t be able to equip all the equipment.
5e Spells
Baldur’s Gate 3 has a large collection of spells taken from the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons, but many more were left out. For instance, despite being popular among DnD players, the psychic spell Mind Sliver was never included in the game.
5e spells is a mod that attempts to rectify that. It adds a large collection of cantrips and spells (level 1 to 5) to the game, all with their own effects. There’s also an optional file that tweaks the effects of the in-game spells. Be sure to check out the list of spells the mod adds, and how they’re implemented in the game.
Achievement Enabler
Most games lock you out from earning achievements if you install mods, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception. Achievement Enabler by Nexus Mods user “dukethedropkicker” does exactly what its name says. It allows you to keep earning achievements on a modded copy of the game, both on Steam and GOG.
Native Camera Tweaks
If you get tired of the isometric camera perspective in Baldur’s Gate 3, Native Camera Tweaks is the mod for you. While the game does allow you to zoom in quite a bit, you won’t be getting a true third-person perspective.
This mod gives you that, but it also comes with a more traditional fixed isometric perspective. You can also take cinematic screenshots with Native Camera Tweaks as it allows you to freely move the camera in any direction.
WASD Character Movement
Endorsed by over 8K users, WASD Character Movement does exactly what it says: It allows you to move your characters using the W, A, S, and D keys. This will greatly improve your experience since using a mouse click to move around can get frustrating after a while.
The mod also binds camera movement to the keys which you can toggle using Cap Lock. WASD Character Movement combined with Native Camera Tweaks will give you the best BG3 experience on a PC.
Mharius’ Unleashed Classes
Mharius’ Unleashed Classes for Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t a single mod, but they all work similarly. Each of these mods revamps an existing class in the game with new and improved bonuses and abilities. They’re all quite lore-friendly, although the improved bonuses are not a feature from DnD 5e. Mharius has also made a bunch of similar Unleashed mods for the in-game races.
Party Limit Begone
If you want all your Baldur’s Gate 3 companions to join in battle with you, Party Limit Begone has you covered. As its name suggests, this mod raises the party limit of 4 characters to 16. It even allows 8 players to join together in multiplayer. Naturally, this also affects the difficulty of the game, as most combat encounters are made easier.
Camp Event Notifications
The camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t just for resting and healing your party. It progresses several questlines, especially those involving your companions. If you don’t rest frequently or skip resting during a specific moment when the game expects you to rest, you can miss out on some camp events.
Camp Event Notifications is a mod that checks for such events on a regular basis and adds a floating exclamation point above your Tav’s head to notify you about these events if they’re available.
ImprovedUI ReleaseReady
ImprovedUI ReleaseReady is a quality-of-life mod that improves Baldur’s Gate 3 UI for a much smoother experience. Not only does it remove aggressive in-game warnings, but it also improves the character creation menu.
This mod also comes with optional files that you can choose to install to replace other UI elements such as dialogue, assets, and more.
New Character Creation Presets
New Character Creation Presets is a character customization mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 that adds a whole range of new faces for your Tavs.
All the heads are unique and the author hasn’t copied any existing in-game NPC’s face. So you don’t need to worry about meeting your doppelgänger while playing through the story. If you want an exquisitely photogenic look for your Tav, you should check out this mod.
