BG3 players roast “awkward” character for worst dialogue in the game
Larian StudiosIn Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a lot of incredible companions to add to your party, and Lae’zel is one of the most iconic ones. According to some players, this is due to her having the worst dialogue lines in the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have a myriad of endearing characters to share their adventures with during this perilous journey through the Sword Coast. And though many of these NPCs end up having their peak moments across the main story, one of them is being roasted for having the worst dialogue lines.
Lae’zel has been quite the controversial character, oftentimes identified with the worst of the worst that a villain can represent, and also owner of a celebrated “sassy” attitude that makes her the center of the jokes among fans of BG3.
Lately, a group of players have come up with strong reasons why they believe Lae’zel has the dumbest dialogues in the whole game. Here’s what the community says about her highlight moments.
This was posted by Reddit user ‘N7_Hades’ in the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, saying: “Lae’zel has the deepest quotes.” The community quickly gathered to talk about which are the dumbest phrases this character has to offer.
One of the players shared the following phrase she says when romancing her: “What good, this heart of stone, for it to be shattered?” Which is considerably poetic, but has been also branded as cheesy and shallow by many fans.
Another player pointed out Lae’zel’s peak funny moment when she misspells Thiefling like ‘Teethling,’ and a BG3 fan pointed out: “Apparently she says ‘Teethling’ again at the patch 5 epilogue party, but if you were a Tiefling and corrected her she says it right at the party.”
But not everyone agrees that Lae’zel is as dumb as they depict her. For some, this has a particularly good explanation: “She’s like an exchange student talking to natives with Shakespearean vocabulary thinking they’ll understand her.”
So there you have it, next time you want to correct Lae’zel spelling when she says ‘FaeRun,’ think of her as a foreign exchange student.
