Abdirak in Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 loves hiding buffs behind strange storylines, and Loviatar’s Blessing is no exception. Here is how you can get Loviatar’s Blessing from Abdirak, and where to find him in BG3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players many opportunities to get buffs that are hidden behind storylines, and meeting Abdirak is one of the first you come across in Act 1

The first thing you need to know is you must be committed to infiltrating the Goblin Camp and not making a mess of it. If you’re ready to find Abdirak and you’ve met this condition, here is where you can find him and get Loviatar’s Blessing in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Where to find Abdirak in Baldur’s Gate 3

Abdirak can be found in the Shattered Sanctum in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, hanging out in the Bloodied Shrine.

You can find Abdirak in the Bloodied Shrine in the Shattered Sanctum.

To get to Abdirak, you need to reach the Goblin Camp. Step by step, here is how to find him:

  1. Go to the Goblin Camp to the West of the Blighted Village.
  2. Enter the Camp and head North.
  3. Enter through the Heavy Oak Doors which are straight on your path.
  4. Enter the Shattered Sanctum and go straight forward.
  5. As you enter the main room of the Sanctum, make a right turn.
  6. As you get to the top of the stairs, make an immediate left.
  7. Abdirak will be in the second room on the right.

If you explore the main room of the Shattered Sanctum, you can also find Volo here, and Abdirak is in the room right next to the Bard. From another perspective, he is east and upstairs from where Priestess Gut is when you first enter the Sanctum.

BG3: How to get Loviatar’s Blessing from Abdirak

Baldur’s Gate 3 players who want Loviatar’s Blessing need to let Abdirak hit them at least three times.

When you first meet Abdirak, he makes it clear immediately that he is a servant of the Goddess of Pain Loviatar. He will quickly offer to hit you with a mace so you can embrace your pain, and if you want the blessing, you must oblige.

More specifically, you need to pass Intimidation and Performance checks three times while he’s hitting you to convince him you’re having a great time. Whether or not you actually are is, well, besides the point. Once you manage to pass these checks, you will be granted Loviatar’s Blessing.

You will be blessed by Abdirak once you have passed the checks.

Loviatar’s Blessing gives you the Loviatar’s Love condition, which means when you have 30% hitpoints or less, you gain +2 to Attack Rolls and Wisdom Saving Throws for three turns

Here are some other tips to keep in mind when getting the blessing:

  • Do not choose a Constitution save, as this will result in failure.
  • If you have read On Receiving Her Grace and Screed of the Willing, you can choose which weapon he hits you with (but it will make no difference).
  • If you are about to die, he will let you heal up before he hits you again.
  • You can steal the Ritual Dagger in the Bloodied Shrine to make a Blood Sacrifice in battle, which lets you take 1-4 Slashing damage for a bonus 1d4 to Attack Rolls and Saving Throws.
